It's a weird request but if Paramount decides to not greenlight Paul Wesley's Kirk and Crew, I hope IDW does a Year One comic. (lemmy.world)

I get it strange because we have TOS comics which are great of course. But I've become quite attached to the redesigned Enterprise, the updated interiors and the new faces to our familiar crew. So it would be cool see what we could have been if a show was greenlit. Hell who knows what Paramount will do once SNW ends next year. They didn't sell off the sets, so there's always a chance that the new trek showrunner still does it. But IDW would be a good fall back.

I'm in a weird situation where the trek I want is set in post TNG, and there's two friggin shows in that era.

I have no fucking time and my Mrs is working though the stuff from before

I feel yah. I just wish we would have had more time with Thomas James McCoy. In a perfect world, year one wouldn't have even been a series pitch. It would have been season 6 and the final season of SNW

Though if the Paramount/Warner merger goes through I wonder if they'll move the license to DC, which will then be "in-house" for them. (DC is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery)

Not that they would be any less capable of doing a Year One comic if they so desire. And until then IDW is kind of doing a Star Trek: Legacy-ish comic (or two) already, so I don't see why not Year One.

I think the odds of a tv series are less than zero at this point, but comics would be a great fit.
