Everyone walks away before I could tell them that the woman wanted to travel with her friends on flight 175 and that their brother/uncle had by coincidence attended a meeting at the WTC that morning despite being a random Irish guy and not a New Yorker and he'd been helping a woman who had been severely burned by jet fuel find an ambulance when the plane his sister and niece were aboard slammed into the other tower right above them.
Guess I'm not good at parties.
Regina Rhode, the girl who was a student at Columbine during that shooting, only to be enrolled at Virginia Tech during that school shooting.
Another one of the pregnant women who died on 9/11 had an office in the south tower but managed to escape before it was hit. She actually got to the ground floor and exited the building as it began to collapse. They found her body less than 10' away from an alleyway where she would've survived the collapse and falling debris.
Several people that actually made it out of the building eventually were killed by debris. I've heard of accounts from other people about someone in their group being struck after having made it down and out of the towers.

One of them had a dad who worked at the Pentagon but took the morning off to drop his son off at the airport. Right before he left his son confessed he was nervous since it was his first time flying on a plane. His dad assured him he had nothing to worry about as flying was the safest form of transportation.
Also one of the producers of Frasier was on flight 11 returning to LA from a brief stay in New York. He flew this route so regularly that in one episode they actually mention flight 11 by name as a minor plot point (since up to 9/11 the morning cross country flight from NYC to LAX was always designated as flight 11.)
They retired the designation after 9/11 for obvious reasons.
I want to ask for an order of magnitude assessment of how many of these you have, but I worry that I have in fact simply gotten us in deeper.
Theres always more. Like 2997 people died and they all have a story. I'm a regular 7 of 9-11 when it comes to this stuff.
Like the exec who only survived because he went down to meet a client in the lobby (security was tight after the 1993 bombing and visitors usually required an escort) which his secretary normally did but he did it himself this one time because she was 8 months pregnant and he didn't want to put her through the hassle since she was so preggers she was due to start her maternity leave at the end if the week.
In a similar vein, there was an engineer in 1945 Japan who was on a business trip in Hiroshima when the atomic bomb was dropped. He was injured, but still went home to report to work in his home town of Nagasaki three days later.
He also lived to 93! The people who survived both bombings are called the "Nijyuu Hibakusha" ("twice bombed") and there is a few dozen known.
Got to experience 2 atomic blast in one week. Some people have all the luck.

Really happened. They were from a fairly well off Irish family and the sister got into selling makeup or something to wealthy families in New England. The brother got into software in the 1990's and did pretty well for himself because of that. The sister wanted to take a vacation with her daughter to Disneyland and they invited one of the friends she'd made over the years, who I suspect was also wealthy enough to go on an impromptu vacation.
The friend of the family couldn't get a flight on 175 (not sure why not but likely because she was using frequent flyer miles and didn't have them for United but could use them on American Airlines--this part is my speculation but I wonder why she couldn't get a seat on 175 cause there were plenty available so I assume it was something like what I theorized.) Since both non-stop flights left at about the same time they'd arrive in Cali at the same time so they were going to meet up at the airport. There was little chance of either plane running into weather delays or anything on account of the fantastic weather across nearly the entire USA that morning.
The brother had a meeting that morning which got changed from some random hotel to the WTC. Since he was in the software business it's not surprisingly it got changed to a high end venue in New York. I mean a finance software conference was taking place that morning on 106 so such things were common. As he told it he was reciting the Lords prayer with the woman who was burned right as the plane carrying his sister and niece hit.
Sadly, the burn victim died something like 30 days later from sever burns all over her body. Definitely one of the stranger tales from that day but not to break the ice with during a party.

I've tweaked it as best I can but to be fair the first 2 cells are from a separate meme and I'm not really invested enough to go do screen grabs of those 2 shots and then edit in the text. I've already put in way, way, way too much effort on this.

The original I posted did in fact have glaring brightness and color differences. It's cause I took an older meme and added to it using screen caps I found online which admittedly didn't match very well.

Gotcha. But at least by mistaking your intent I went back and improved the brightness of all panels so they matched a bit better. Thats a win, right?
