The social media post from the farm said the officer told HeeHaw's owners that the donkey ran up to them braying, so "they thought they were in danger and shot and killed him after trying to taze him."
They really do find some of the most spineless creatures to become cops.

Who died this time?
Police shot a pet donkey in the USA, I think. The officer had gone on the pasture without permission, and when the donkey went curiously to check them out, they shot it.

This is a donkey who loved people and thought he'd found a new friend.

that fucking cop should go straight to jail, charged with torturing an animal, charged with killing an animal, charged for trespassing, charged for destruction of property, then swiftly convicted and sentenced to a decade or more in prison without parole. and upon release never be allowed to own firearms again, never be allowed to work in law enforcement or private security or private investigation ever again, and be barred from working or living with animals.

This is just pure stupid. You go to someone's farm, unannounced, I assume enter their pasture, and then get surprised when one of the animals comes up to you and start making noise? He's lucky he didn't catch a bullet for wandering into someone's property unannounced.
How about this, take his gun away, and I know a field that has a bull in rut that might have the "missing person" he was looking for, he can go right out in the middle and look around all he likes.
This isn't like Harambe. The way to make Harambe equivalent would be if Harambe was killed because some cop wandered into his enclosure while looking for a missing person and managed to shoot him before Harambe ripped his arms off for trying to taze him.
