Would probably be less effective if people like her would stop validating the attacks through their own left-bashing.

My impression is that those "socialism" attacks by the Republicans don't really work anymore.
These attacks really lose all meaning when they keep calling people like Barack Obama, Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi communists and far left extremists. I think they may even be helping actual progressives like Zohran Mamdani, Abdul El-Sayed or Angie Nixon with that.
If she was being paid by rich people to prevent social reforms, it's hard to know what exactly she'd be doing differently. Like, ever.
When I hear the dinosaurs blurt out “that’s communism! He’s a communist!”, I just die laughing. Same thing with “He’s a socialist!” Bruh, the fuck cares about these labels anymore?
It definitely has been for decades. I'm not sure anymore, not with how things are going. I can see genz, alpha and millenials being very much unaffected by the old anti-commie propaganda. I mean even some in the GOP prefer Russia, the former communist USSR, over democrats.

Mamdani won with 51% of the vote and he was going up against a known sexual predator and a radio shock jock.
Harris got 65% of the NYC vote. More total votes than Mamdani and a higher percentage of the vote.
Don't pretend that the US has a giant Socialist majority. We're the minority.
Mamdani was running against another Democrat. I'm sick of people trying to score political points by being intentionally dishonest.
No one gives a shit about the socialist label anymore, except for conservatives who aren't voting for Democrats anyway. It are you pretending that all these DSA candidates who won their primaries magically don't exist?
Did they win by overwhelming majorities, by enough to ensure an automatic win in November?
The last poll I saw said that a little over half of young voters have a favorable view of the DSA.
That's not an automatic win.
Harris went against a republican, Mamdani went against a democrat running as an independent. Of course a democrat vs democrat election is going split more votes than a democrat vs republican election.
The US doesn't have a giant socialist majority, but socialist policies are really popular in the US because the US is so fucked by capitalism. The reason they need to do the "socialist" attack is because they can't attack the policies because they're popular policies. They can't attack the platform so they attack the character. And in case of Abdul El-Sayed, who isn't part of the DSA and doesn't consider himself a socialist, they can't even attack the character so they have to attack his associations, primarily Hasan Piker because that's a socialist you can attack.
Don't fall of the establishment dems shit. There's way bigger support for social policies than whatever shit the establishment democrats want to peddle. That's why the establishment is deliberately trying to build infighting within the party, so when they lose the midterms they could blame the socialists for the infighting and call for the party to re-unify under the current establishment so they can go back to business as usual.
I don't think she's wrong though. I think if we learned anything from Trump, it's that culture is far more important than any issue. They won on a platform of anti-trans, pro-white, toxic masculinity, and not on economy or healthcare or gun rights. Talk to their base long enough and this is what you'll find.
Look at Paxton's campaign; his only strategy is calling Talarico a gay vegan beta male. And his base doesn't give a shit about any of the crimes or bribery or the fact that he was impeached by other Republicans.
Elections aren’t won by a “base”. Thats the definition. The swing voters were put off by two rancid democrat candidates.
Swing voters vote almost exclusively on the economy, with a minority voting on social issues. They were scared away by inflation in 2024

He beat Cuomo by 10 points. That's a significant victory.
