Different timings (C15 vs C16), different speeds (3000 MHz vs 3200 MHz, automatically matched by the system at 3000 MHz), different sizes (8 GB x2 vs 16 GB x2). Only the brand is the same. The system in question is "just" a media server, but still. Let's see how this goes. 🙃

Tbh, I've done some similar shifty shit and run rigs on it for years w/o issue. Will it be running at the absolute maximum performance possible? No, but that's not typically the goal when you're frankensteining together a rig with mismatched ram 😂

Exactly what I'm saying. 🤣 I just want my torrent client to be able to cache/buffer a few gigs or RAM for speedier seeding is all. 🫣

In my experience, should be fine. Modern boards usually reclock to the lowest common denomination between the types of RAM.

If this was Pentium[1-4] or early Xeon days you'd be boned.

Is the voltage the same? It might sound silly and it might be, but far as I could tell at the time, I used sticks with different voltage limits and when they got pushed to the brim, the one with a lower voltage burned out.
