I don't think I've seen a political bumper sticker even once in my life. I don't know if it's exclusively an American thing but it clearly isn't a Finnish thing. You're lucky to spot a bumper sticker, let alone a political one.

This looks like more of a joke making fun of people who keep political bumper stickers on their car long after they're relevant than someone who legitimately supported Nixon and Goldwater, but also Gore and Clinton.

That's an expensive joke, those vintage campaign stickers are like $30 a pop.

[–] socsa@piefed.social 4 points 4 hours ago

Pretty sure you can just copy them via an online sticker maker. They usually don't have any copyright checks in place.

The older stickers look brand new. Even if that car had been around then, they'd be super faded

[–] LifeInMultipleChoice@lemmy.world 12 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Sure, but we know the car wasn't around for Nixon and such, so unless they bought 5 and kept them to apply to their replacement vehicles over the years.... Something else is about

The older stickers should also have more wear and tear, I'd think.

nixon (and others)

a late 2000s corolla

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 6 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

..........how old is that car???

[–] scottmeme@sh.itjust.works 26 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Not old enough for some of those stickers

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 5 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

It's definitely newer than 1972.

I wonder where they got the stickers?

[–] bugbear@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 6 hours ago

They could have had them printed

[–] huppakee@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Maybe they didn't have a car before but they did have the stickers, so they just saved them up? Or they had like an uncle who didn't want to put them on his car so he had a whole stack of them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I wonder if you can buy them from somewhere?

[–] huppakee@lemmy.world 0 points 7 hours ago

I wonder if I should start using question marks after statements?
