This repost is so old, it is older than lemmy.

That would explain why everything's getting so janky. Just waiting for the 3-finger salute now.

The tech bros got Ghandied...

Not gonna lie, 2026 is feeling more like Vista.

[–] ellieficent@reddthat.com 10 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

Hey now, Vista wasn't 2026 levels of bad.

In terms of Windows versions, yes, it was.

It was objectively worse than XP, and deservedly short-lived. Win7 was objectively much better than Vista.

People who survived from then to now, consciousness intact, even say that Win 98 was better than Vista.

Not that I am endorsing Windows in any way.

It's funny how even Microsoft themselves seem to forget ME ever existed.

[–] Malyca@lemmy.zip 2 points 14 hours ago

I think we'd all like to forget

We back in 2006 now, American war in the Middle East and a shitty version of Windows.

[–] huppakee@lemmy.world 4 points 17 hours ago

feeling like ≠ being run on

Sloppy coverup we know that's the truth.

The unbelievable part is that it runs on Windows 95 and doesn't crash more often.

As far as I'm informed, the Matrix runs on Windows XP, but maybe not yet in russia.

My wife and I did a flyby visit of the Devil's Tower last year on vacation and it was a foggy night like this with occasional lightning off in the distance. It was pretty surreal seeing a huge disembodied tower floating in the air in front of us as we approached.

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 4 points 13 hours ago

Well, at least this disproves all that "Intelligent Design" nonsense.

[–] bitteroldcoot@piefed.social 14 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

And you actually believe it was just a billboard?

[–] Syndication@lemmy.today 8 points 18 hours ago

That's where the director and production crew stays, inside the moon, like in the Trumen Show.

[–] WhoIzDisIz@lemmy.today 5 points 18 hours ago

What, is it really some incredibly tightly packed/placed drones?

[–] mappe@moplemmy.fyi 13 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Well to carry the analogy forward these days we would be running on Windows 11 and experiencing a reality of constant monitoring and hardcore data mining so YEAH THAT TRACKS.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Outside of the matrix, they are running Windows 13. We are behind by two releases in here. They have to update the virtualization layers.

[–] mappe@moplemmy.fyi 3 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

I can only assume Windows 13 has escalated to electrodes and a biometric monitoring butt plug.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 3 points 16 hours ago

Yeah it feels nice, but the software still sucks.

[–] aeronmelon@lemmy.world 4 points 18 hours ago

“You were using Matrix Me again, weren’t you?”
