I have a fear, hopefully unfounded, that cuts to these programs, along with ignoring or getting rid of data is an attempt by this administration to get rid of any information that might contradict their narratives while also allowing big business more free reign. And then there's the immensely ominous statement they've put out in these situations where they essentially say these changes are to support 'changing administrative priorities'.

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 2 points 19 hours ago

Its reality, not a fear

[–] revelrous@sopuli.xyz 1 points 19 hours ago

Yes. The good old 'if we stop testing covid will go away approach'.

It feels like this is the oligarchs last scramble to snatch what they can before collapse hits a stride.

Give power to republicans and we all suffer for it.

They better enjoy it, good chance this is the last time they’ll ever see it

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 day ago

...unless we manage to balance the budget again.

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

I really hope you're right

The goal is to have THE FREEDOM to sell you bad food without THE MAN telling those poor innocent businesses to toss it out or shut down.

My sister in law died this morning from a bad listeria infection.

While the source hasn't been identified, I have little doubt it can be traced to the current administrations lackluster food safety policies.

Her two sons will grow up without a mother because of these fascist pricks lust for wealth and power. It won't be okay until they're all gone.

[–] fartographer@lemmy.world 3 points 20 hours ago

My deepest condolences

[–] Cris_Citrus@piefed.zip 69 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Shit man, I'm sending love. Thats horrific 🫂

Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that. As a non-American, I didn't realize the food safety situation was this dire. What an unnecessary, pointless death. How many more until the people finally turn on the government? Food is about as non-partisan or bi-partisan as you can get.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

How many more until the people finally turn on the government?

It's already starting to happen. Avowed socialists winning special elections in formerly lopsided Trump districts, etc. About fucking time.

During lockdown, Americans died of covid in the ICU while denying the existence of covid with their last hacking breath. Soon Americans will chow down on diarrhea groceries like Jonestown.

food involves both lots of money and the opportunity to display cultural group membership, so, no

That is horrifying, try to take care of yourself and the rest of your family.

[–] smh@slrpnk.net 7 points 2 days ago

I'm really sorry for your loss. That's awful.

A healthy, broadly educated population, which feels safe and secure, is incompatible with, and toxic to, conservative and authoritarian ideologies.

They need you to be sick, stupid, and scared.

[–] Gaslov@lemmy.world 0 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

Do you just post this everywhere?

[–] nonentity@sh.itjust.works 5 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

I post it wherever I consider it relevant to the topic.

[–] Gaslov@lemmy.world -1 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago)

Every time you post it you should put it in quotes and end it with --nonentity for a stylist touch.

[–] Kalothar@lemmy.ca 4 points 20 hours ago

Does that make it any less true?

[–] BenLeMan@lemmy.world 87 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Don't you worry about it. Soon there will be no more recalls, just mysterious diseases that unfortunately nobody could have prevented.

They brought back beef tallow for fries.

Mission accomplished?

[–] jtrek@startrek.website 47 points 2 days ago

Conservatives are incapable of good government. They don't believe in it. They don't understand it. They're shitty people.

[–] Zephyr@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

You mean operating like a third world country is a bad idea?

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (2 children)

Funny, I'm reading this while on the toilet shitting my brains out because I probably have cyclospora.

Wait that's not funny, that fucking sucks.

[–] bcgm3@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Just got done with it; get those antibiotics as soon as you can.

Conservatives tend to die first in harsh times, because they don't know how to take care of their health, funny how that works.

Yet during COVID they were all parroting the party of personal responsibilities

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 31 points 2 days ago

What they say and what they do is two seperate things.

STOP listening to them and START watching what they are doing.

And then, vote according to what you saw.

[–] BananaPeal@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 days ago

What most people don't realize is that MAHA and MAGA aren't political slogans indicating their goals. They are actually telling us what to do: "Make America Great/Healthy Again, because we're certainly not going to do it."

[–] unitedwithme@lemmy.today 13 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Don't forget they say avoid ultra processed foods and refined sugars! So basically you can't eat anything

To be fair, Trump is so senile that he's probably forgotten that poop is supposed to be solid.
