How did they even stay in business this long? I hope they were losing money every month.
I used to live nearby, it always seemed empty whenever we drove by, every time. I dunno how it survived, I think the owner must have had money to burn because they always had a rotation of nice classic cars parked outside. Knew it must have been the owner's though because it was the same rotation of 5 or so.
In another few years it's going to be just like Iraq and Afghanistan. All those people who endlessly supported the war will suddenly go quiet and blend in, pretending they never supported such disastrous interventions -- and of course, never admit they were wrong.
Suddenly you won't be able to ever find someone who admits to having been a Trump supporter.
I supported both wars and I was wrong. I nearly joined the Air Force myself. I really believed they did have WMDs in Iraq, and that Afghanistan was deliberately sheltering bin Laden.
I wish I could say one big thing changed my mind and I was wrong for some good reason. But I can't even point to anything that the handful of radicals hadn't already told me in person. I just slowly learned more about the world.

I kinda fear someone more coherent will get in there running on the same ideas but properly execute it. I'm scared shitless that we'll look back on his ass like we look back on W now. He was horrible and embarrassing, but his hallmarks were broad republican ideals, hating broccoli, and being unable to say nuclear.
There's a guy in my area selling Temu-quality Trump merch on the side of the highway, out of what I'm pretty sure used to be one of those water pistol games you see at carnivals and state fairs, with all that hardware ripped out.
I've passed by it on the way to and from work for years now, and never once have I seen a customer.

So every fan has had a decade to buy Trump merchandise, MAGA hats, stupid flags, stickers for their car and so on. It's like running a swastika shop in Nazi Germany in 1938. What I've seen are people driving around in large Trump-themed buses, parking in different towns from one day to the next, propping up tents and selling Trump merch. MAGA truly is a cult.
