I mean, dogs come from domesticated wolves soo
They don't though, their last common ancestor is wolf, but they did come from a different species (though the separation of the species is incredibly recent, biologically, only as short as 30,000 years ago)

And to be fair, the thing that's the common ancestor we do call it a Wolf, the name is "Pleistocene Wolf", it's just genetically not a wolf
