Goatse, lemonparty, meatspin, earrape jumpscare YouTube videos, liveleaks.

A cutesy, if formulaic 1980s synthpop song is how you apologize.

Don't forget tubgirl, blue waffle, and basically anything on rotten.com

[–] crazycraw@crazypeople.online 9 points 1 month ago (2 children)

[–] some_kind_of_guy@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Just watch out for those lemon-stealing whores

[–] TIEPilot@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

Thats why you get lemon tree insurance.

[–] atomicbocks@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 month ago

I’ll never forget the video of the man, I think he was a journalist, being beheaded that was used everywhere for a minute.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I never got the lemon party one. “Oh no, old man sex? How terrible!” Unless I bore witness to dismemberment, irl vore, or extremely violent sexual or psychological perversion, it rarely stuck with me.

[–] buycurious@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This sounds like someone with internet experience.

Imagine seeing it without that much exposure to other things and potentially at a young age.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago

“This is terrible. Someday my ballsack will be 3 feet long. I can’t bear the weight of that knowledge.”

I dunno, I understood fellatio and homosexuality at a young age, during a fairly homophobic time. I imagine it wouldn’t have bothered me immensely. Maybe I would have asked my parents and been beaten for it, but I’d remember the beating more than the old men.

But the video of someone nailing their penis to a board, or the vagina cactus clips would have fucked me up. God forbid I watched the mantis video or 2 guys 1 hammer.

It was an earlier time and being gay was a lot less okay.

I mean it's the same with shit like meatspin. It's w/e, just some penis, but back then showing someone something gay? waow what a funny prank, ewww I don't wanna see something gay.

Small reminder of how far we've come. Or rather, how far we haven't, since I imagine people would have the same reaction today.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I mean, meat spin was less about the gay and more about full experience. Spinning penis to a loud song about spinning. It’s goofy and visible. Or, at least that was how I perceived it.

[–] gwl@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 month ago

It was definitely a lot about the gay.

[–] gwl@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 month ago

Don't forget Penisland

[–] okwhateverdude@lemmy.world 27 points 1 month ago (2 children)

The current sanitized internet of "unalive", "f*ck", etc. would shit bricks if exposed to all of the heinous shit of yestercentury

[–] chuckleslord@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

I mean, that shit is still around, just not in the corpo approved ad pages. It's only been, like, a year tops since I've seen a decapitation.

Lemon party, meatspin, various numbers of girls and cups, tubgirl and goatse. Links and emails and timed redirects. Any way someone could think of to get others to look at something they'd been tricked into seeing.

The children of today have no idea of the scars we bear.

What's goatse?

EDIT: Two hours, and no one's posted it yet? I left the door open, all you had to do was walk through it.

[–] Widdershins@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

When you find out don't settle for the one image. That image is part of a whole set of pictures.

[–] cubism_pitta@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago

This question makes me sad.

[–] Cricket@lemmy.zip 4 points 1 month ago

Sadly, the original is gone. I won't post the image, but you can easily find hello.jpg yourself

Rickrolling is an audiovisual Bel Air. Someone ropes you in with a fascinating shaggy-dog story that finds a natural way to mention one little fight where their mom got scared, and then transition to the theme from Fresh Prince of Bel Air. I recently found out there was a melodramatic reboot of that show. I don't think they used Will Smith's original theme song, even though that's a major factor in his career, with music royalties ultimately paying him more than the residuals for starring in the show. That's why he insisted on tie-in songs for all of his movies. People joke about that for Men In Black in 1997 and Wild Wild West in 1999, but a little-known fact is that when the Wachowskis approached him in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.

I used to load the receiver part of goatse for any site that deep linked to my site. Fun times.

I've made an edited version

Edit: Oops, too transparent, let's try again

[–] chicken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 month ago

The concept behind rickrolling afaik is that certain people cannot be upset by extreme violence and the grotesque, but as an alternative method you can inflict psychic damage on those same people with cheesy love songs
