You can self host reitti, and submit to it via gpslogger on your phone. That's how we have it set up

This is very cool. I just started architecting something very similar to reitti but it seems to already cover all the use cases I could think of - let me know if you need any additional help!
My partner and I live separately, and we use Colota (F-Droid link) to send location data to our individual self-hosted Home Assistant instances.
Our Home Assistant instances are linked together which lets us share our locations with each other.
This might be a bit much to set up just for location sharing, but if you're using home automation anyway, it's nice to have it all tied together.

its paid yes, but personally i think its worth it
theres other options like self hosting or something like zood, which is free
