A year and a half is more than a sixth of that kid's life. Like six years for a late 20s person.

Damn, I hadn't even thought of it that way. That's actually wild!

Congrats Mom!

It's even more than that when you consider humans usually cannot recall much about the first couple years of their lives (see childhood amnesia). Granted this is about what adults can remember about their early lives but I wouldn't expect an 8yo to remember when they were 2 either.

Considering they probably don't really remember the first few years, it's even much more.

Kid claimed you, you're mom now.

de facto mom > de jure mom

So sweet. I feel like most parents wouldn't introduce you to their child if they aren't serious about you.

Single parents might not have much of a choice depending on their support network. It can be rough getting alone time.

If a child gifts you something, you always accept it.

Except if it is like a dog turd or something.

Open your mouth and close your eyes, and you will get a big surprise!

Okay, are we supposed to follow greentext protocol here? Or pretend it doesn't exist and respond genuinely? I'm only 1/8th joking, because there are certain internet traditions, and I don't want to violate them...

For real though, that's sweet as hell, and the obviously real OOP is mom now.

You’ve been adopted by that child.
