Yup, the things you correctly identified as typical reddit-ass content being on the site is the propaganda, while the targeted political campaign that was "all over reddit" (including places where it made absolutely no sense) was the organic, neutral stuff blob-no-thoughts

Them getting trashed by the comments on an american site just shows how much the whole US propaganda apparatus has fallen apart. That would've been inconceivable a few years ago on Reddit outside of ML subreddits.

China exists

is-this "Is this a propaganda campaign?"

[–] Grapho@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 month ago

Why else would they be doing this incontrovertibly great and seemingly altruistic thing if not for the benefit of us, the only real people in the world?

[–] muad_dibber@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 month ago

"Attention! Someone said something positive about this woman, who the church clearly said is a witch that should be burned. Why are people portraying her in a positive light????"

[–] kittenzrulz123@hexbear.net 30 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I would love to visit China, its insane how much they have accomplished despite the west dedicating the last three decades to their total destruction :3

I have a lot of anxiety around language barriers, but if I can get over that (and the costs, and the shitshow that would be returning to the US), it would be an incredible trip for sure. Hell, I'd move there if we could pull it off.

[–] Alfredolin@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 month ago

I've been there as a tourist, good memories. The language barrier is real, but it makes for really funny translations to be randomly found on the streets.

[–] Philosoraptor@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago

I went for two months when I was younger. It was awesome. This was before live translation via phone was a thing, and I still managed to get by. The people were very kind and helpful and the country is beautiful. I think it would be pretty easy to be just fine now that your phone can reliably translate basic stuff for you.

When your country's propaganda campaign against their geopolitical rival winds down and you start seeing real news that humanizes them uhhh is this propaganda??? aren't they evil and we're supposed to hate them because of [previous propaganda campaign]? powercry-2

That post was prob made from a US Air Force base

[–] chgxvjh@hexbear.net 7 points 1 month ago

Statistically speaking some of the "chinese propaganda" comes from Eglin as well.

Think about it

But not too much

God, I fucking hate Germans. To all who might feel offended by this: Ihr wisst, was ich meine.

Ist ok, ich hasse Deutsche auch.

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It is kind of incredible how consistent it is that people who scream the loudest about "China doing genocide" always turn out to be genocide denying white supremacists themselves, or hang out with them. I've never seen someone care so much about this who wasn't a massive piece of shit or completely ignorant and totally ok with hanging out with pieces of shit.

[–] Trioxin@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 month ago

Notice that it's "persecution and oppression" now, not "genocide"...

[–] yoru77@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 month ago

It is quite sad, that people recognize China with only Propaganda, and nothing positive, but I've remembered this joke or its variations:

A Russian and an American get on a plane in Moscow and get to talking. The Russian says he works for the Kremlin and he's on his way to go learn American propaganda techniques. "What American propaganda techniques?" asks the American. "Exactly," the Russian replies.

When China is winning so fucking hard that it's pretty much only boomers on fb and twitler who can have a good old circle jerk about how China Bad.

Not counting Reddit bc that's just fed on fed communication.

[–] BattleshipPokemon@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago

WTF does Palestine have to do with this? It's fully possible to condemn both.

[–] Feed_el_Castro@hexbear.net 46 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

It's fully possible to condemn both if you're uneducated, yes, many such cases. It just so happens that the Zionists pushing anti-Palestinian sentiment are very often proponents of the Uyghur genocide conspiracy theory concocted by western fascists such as the type of Adrian Zenz.

Unfortunately for them, the widespread video evidence of what an actual genocide looks like emerging from one of the most totalitarian controlled regions of the world (Palestine at the behest of the Zionist entity) has severely de-legitimized the claims of the false genocide in Uyghur, which only serves to create a "two things can be bad at the same time" narrative to both alleviate the genocidal sins of the western empires and simultaneously manufacture hatred against socialist China.

The "Uyghur genocide" narrative is a form of genocide denialism by calling everything a genocide, which severely undermines the legitimate struggle of the Palestinian people against their colonial oppressor. Thankfully it's very easy to disprove by asking for any shred of video evidence of systematic violence against the Uyghur such as unfortunately has existed in all our social media since the intensification of the genocide against Palestinians that takes place since 2023

Hey bartender @TanteRegenbogen@feddit.org, you seem to have a diverging opinion on that. Why don‘t you put forward your criticism directly here, instead of cowardly roaring in a nazi bar behind their back?
Maybe the people in this thread will be able to learn something new, why don‘t you try?

[–] Feed_el_Castro@hexbear.net 4 points 1 month ago

Glad to make the Nazis mald. Things you won't find in that thread: widespread video evidence of systematic abuse against the Uyghur people in Xinjiang.

[–] unknownuserunknownlocation@kbin.earth 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

in a Nazi bar

Citation needed. Especially in a thread where every shed of evidence for certain human rights abuses is dismissed as propaganda.

[–] Horse@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

give a single piece of evidence that doesn't trace back to an evangelical nutjob who believes he is on a mission from god to destroy the chinese state and can't even speak mandarin

[–] unknownuserunknownlocation@kbin.earth -2 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Open any somewhat capable search engine and you'll find it.

can't even speak mandarin

Not sure why you'd need mandarin to get the story from a population that speaks Uyghur, but anyway...

[–] EmmiLime@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Open any somewhat capable search engine and you’ll find it.

Then do it, show it here.

[–] Horse@lemmygrad.ml 3 points 1 month ago

so you have no evidence, got it

Condemning China for what exactly?

It's 2026, I didn't even realise people still fell for the Adrian Zenz fabrications? Maybe some redditors I guess. Zenz being funded to invent a fake genocide by a foundation that's already notorious for blatant ideologically inspired academic fraud is simply genocide denial.

Clearly it works if some fuckwits swallow it whole though.

Its fully possible to condemn both a mass shooter and the guy who runs the local taco truck, but why would I?

[–] 30_to_50_Feral_PAWGs@hexbear.net 22 points 1 month ago

The only oppression of Uygurs happening right now is Great Britain's travel ban on Cenk and Hasan

condemn both what? can you show me a single image of a single body killed by china? I can show you tens of thousands killed by Israel
