Damn. I always thought it was 22 skidoo.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 38 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

42 is objectively the best number since it is the answer to life, the universe, and everything.

When my kid does 6-7 I do the same gesture saying 8-9. It also means nothing and it's bigger, so "I win". Annoys the hell out of them.

[–] Test_Tickles@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago

I go with "Ya, 42 right? I love Hitchhiker's guide. You are never going to go wrong with a guy Hitchhikers reference with me.". And then I go for a high-five that never gets returned. This shuts the entire thing down in such an amusing way.

My favorite thing is the boomer anger towards 6-7

"Back in my day, our funni numbers mean something, and we wore onions on our belts, as was the fashion of the time"

[–] GeneralEmergency@lemmy.world 16 points 3 weeks ago (3 children)

Witnessing the boomerfication of millennials in real time is a trip.

I mean well yeah. The other numbers actually have some kind of meaning 67 is just nothing.

What's Jenny's number again?

As I said repeatedly, if a store asks for a phone number for a rewards number, use this with the local area code. You will be surprised how often it works.

Execute Order 66

McDonald’s is always a fun time with my friends if that’s our number. No one else bats an eyelid however.

But Christ when 67 appears 🫩

  1. 6 times 6 equals 36. Add every number between 1 and 36 and it equals 666.

What does it mean!?

Because they have some meaning (and arguably, value) beyond "a number we choose to be a meme."

The minute enough people knew what 6 7 was, it lost the only value it had: being an inside joke and using it to exclude others not in the know.

It is funnier than 24

[–] Curiousfur@lemmy.world 6 points 3 weeks ago

I recently had to go to a building whose address was 6769. I literally wouldn't be able to remember it were it not for that number

42?

I mean a 72 is a 69 with three fingers up your ass, but bit what it's a 42?

The answer to life! (A reference to Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adam’s)

[–] tacosanonymous@mander.xyz 20 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

It’s the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago (5 children)

But what is the question? We need a bigger computer!

It's just that 67 is lame. It's a reference to some video so whatever, but the creepy thing about it is people are expected to laugh uncontrollably when they hear the number. And they do it because they have to do whatever social media demands of them.

The whole 67 thing is cringey.

[–] beejboytyson@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

They aren't? It's a kid thing let kids have dumb fun
