I can still buy my digital games from multiple sources that I choose on PC. I can only buy PS5 digital games from 1 source only. It is not nearly the same at all. If i want to actually own my PC game then I can still buy it from GOG and maybe other places i dont even know of. PS5 will not. It will never be the same if I only have 1 option to buy from.

With how much Microsoft has been fucking up, you'd think Sony would just take the W, but they seem hellbent on blasting both their kneecaps out with a 12 gauge.

This is basically Sony right now

We'll see about that.

Co-exist by releasing games on both platforms, instead of cancelling ports and turtling up behind your walled garden then.

Man, Sony has a RUDE awakening coming. Really the only thing consoles have going for them is ease of use and the steam machine/deck have just destroyed that advantage. People will not put up with a $70 price tag for a game they can get at a steam sale for $30. Maybe their exclusives will carry them, but those seem to be getting less and less.

And older games for like $3. And Humble. And...

You own a PC, vs you rent a PlayStation - we are not the same.

This invites a comparison between the Sony disc experience and the Sony digital experience(s).

Disc: place disc in, get update, play. Don’t have internet ? Still play.

Sony Digital: Sony has had multiple psn outages over the years that stopped multiplayer, license validation and updates for weeks/months. Even just recently…

Sony has had MULTIPLE HIGH LEVEL user data breaches exposing accounts to hackers. https://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2025/12/23/psa-psn-accounts-hacked-even-with-2fa-passkey-enabled/

https://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2026/05/23/playstation-accounts-hacked-social-engineering/

Sony removes titles off psn and fuck you for caring otherwise. Remember PT? I have a copy I had to proxy download to a ps4 just to have cause Sony /konami don’t care…

Sony has randomly pulled digital titles from paying customers, deleting purchased copies of films and tv shows from their own network. If you paid for it, it doesn’t matter Sony/Konami took it away.

Remember how Sony handled digital pc titles????

Even if you don’t care about discs Sony has proven it can’t handle a digital marketplace.

And Sony doesnt offer PSN in 121 countries on earth. So if you live in one of those, Sony doesnt want your money.

To put that 121 in perspective... There are 195 countries on the planet. So PSN is available in less than 38% of the countries on Earth.
