you know you can just eat caviar right

Boba has a secret advantage over caviar. It tastes good.

Check Mr. McDuck over here! Will you be paying using the towel from your most recent swim?

Try salmon/cod roe. It's available in most Asian grocery stores and it's quite similar.

it's like 2€ a tube dude

Maybe for your location, sure. But I just did a quick search and if I wanted to get some today, the cheapest option is $13 for 1.75oz (before tax) and the nearest location has no guarantee that it will even be in the store. I'm not saying that I don't believe you, just that for most people it probably isn't nearly as cheap/plentiful as you make it sound

check your local ikea for some kalles

So there's only one relatively close to me and after checking their website it seems like they don't have it. In fact they've only got 6 food items listed. 3 of them are exactly the same thing (SJÖRAPPORT), 2 are ALMOST the same (SILL DILL vs SILL SENAP), and the last one is a bag of peeled shrimp. So really there's only 3-4 items available depending on how you count. Either way, none of these items are high priority for me personally, so it's not like I'm devastated or anything, but this just goes back to my point that availability isn't always guaranteed

huh, there was a whole thing about them replacing kalles with their own shit a few years ago which triggered all the swedes living abroad so hard that they had to switch back. interesting that the ultimate solution seems to have been "well now you can't have any >:c"

That's capitalism baby? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Isn't this the same as eating Nutt?

Question; are those tapioca spheres or are they bubbles from a bubble tea? Actually is this just standard boba? Or are these ones... pearls from the bottom of a pearl milk tea drink?

I really need to know specifically which.

[–] Funkt4st1c@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

I used to buy tubs of the bubbles. Theyre udually just fruit juice that was piped into... Something im too lazy to search.

Tapioca pearls are also, confusingly, called bubbles. These are usually called popping bubbles

[–] Zetta@mander.xyz 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Tapioca spheres are the only true Bobba imo. Those "popping" ones in the image are just disgusting garbage.

[–] johan@feddit.nl 1 points 17 hours ago

Agree 100%. The tapioca ones have a nice, almost gelatinous texture that I find very satisfying.
