This is the new, improved USA: whatever regulation still exists is being stripped down as we speak and new companies are seizing newly created "opportunities" without any sense of propriety, not even to speak of morals or ethics.
Dammit. I'm going to feel really bad when I have to start flipping off school busses.

Joke's on them for investing in education when the current administration would rather no one went to school.
Other countries have camera issues because the government has turned into a nanny state. In the US it’s because some corporation has found yet another way to collect fees from regular people by injecting themselves into and extending a government program.
Right. One guy broke down the convoluted path to appeal, like they’re using the Reddit method of “you’re banned for 2w, but we won’t check our email (for the appeal) so you may as well eat the 2w.”
People who pass busses should be curb stomped in the street not spyed on by big brother.
Agreed, the same for racing through active school zones. The beating for not slowing down and moving over for a tow truck or stopped emergency vehicle should be only slightly more mild. These are as key to driving as red=stop and green=go.
I believe we already have cars that do exactly this in my city
If I understand it right, they just hire people to drive around all day while the car reads and tracks license plates of other vehicles they pass
I forget the company name, but the logo is an almost circle made out of leaves and some kind of roman helmet
So I'm already assuming all Amazon trucks, any other large delivery vehicles, (edit to add all Teslas, probably) city fleet cars, city buses,Google maps/TomTom and others with those 360° cameras all do this already. Now I have to worry about school buses too? From what I understand, Flock (ALPR) cameras also do facial recognition and tracking (is this right?). WHERE DOES IT END
If there's a Camara, they can do anything with that visual data they want. Why are people so fuckig naive that they still believe anything industry says about their goals and motives?
