The homemade bread I make. I can a whole loaf disappear when it's warm and fresh from the oven.......
(And yes, it's a snack at that point).
did you know that if you eat an entire jar of green olives in one sitting you'll get explosive diarrhea? um, that's what my friend told me
I was once browsing a food/produce open air market right near closing time. A merchant asked me if I wanted to buy two whole pineapples, for $1.00. I said yes.
Then I took them home and ate two whole pineapples in one sitting (after I peeled and sliced them).
My stomach hated me for several days.
Pineapple hates me. I just can't eat it anymore because it burns my tongue and throat for several hours after I eat it. You have balls, man!
Oh god yes. My mouth and throat were raw. Still worth it.
That's hilarious. (but delicious)
Pineapple bites back. I tried drinking whiskey and eating fresh pineapple once and screamed and threw my glass down
That's why I eat black olives. The properly cured black olives is my secret. I can't get enough of them.

Except not the grape ones. I hate artificial grape flavor.
I’ll eat as many of these as are in reach of me.

If there are chips (crisps) in my house, I will eat them until they are gone - not in one sitting or anything, but I will grab some every time if I see them.
OTOH, I make and freeze objectively delicious cookie dough balls for my family, so that they can bake a cookie anytime, and I almost never eat those even though I like them, and even if someone makes me one. It doesn't feel like willpower, I just don't want them often at all.
Watermelon sour patch candy. That stuff is going to kill me.

Give me this but in meat form. Cured salami sticks 🥵
Ooh or cured salami sticks wrapped in that swirly chocolate wafer shell in the original image. Sweet and salty.
I don't even buy them and some other snacks because I know I won't be able to stop.
Before companies changed their recipes I was all about cold Kit Kat minis.
Nestle chocolate tastes like sugared wax these days. Either I was less picky as a child, or the quality has decreased
You forgot the vegetable oil. Wax and vegetable oil.
Anything really. As long as the bowl is within hands reach I will keep eating until it’s empty.
I just can’t seem to pace myself. So nowadays I try to stick to healthy snacks.
If I gorge myself on something then it might as well be something that’s good for me :)
Gummy bears, or almost anything gummy, really. Sometimes I like to pair them with a salty snack like nuts or chips, for a more balanced meal.
Waffles, I'll be sick after them but I have zero restraint and it's a problem of future me. 🗿
Don't visit Belgium
You know me so well
You know, over the years, that list has gotten tiny.
The only thing I really struggle with now, as in if I don't pay attention and have a whole package next to me I'll end up eating it all, is stuff like Ghirardelli squares or lindt truffles.
I'm a chocolate fiend. But, normally, I know how much I plan to have at a given point in time and stop when I'm at that point.
But there's something about those bags of products that defeats me if I don't pay close attention. I'll have my two, maybe three truffles (as an example), enjoy them thoroughly and move on.
But then my brain says "did you have two, or three?" a few hours later. And then it says "or was only two, you can have the other now". So I have the other. This then repeats a few hours later, and my brain keeps lying to me until half the damn bag is gone.
It's mostly limited to bags because I can't easily tell how much I've had until the bag is low. A box, it's not going to sneak by me. Bars are never a problem. But bags? Damn. My subconscious knows I'll enjoy it, and refuses to keep track on my behalf, I have to do it consciously. Bad subconscious! Bad!
I mean, I'm a grown ass man, and if I want the whole damn bag as a conscious decision, that's what I'll do. No apologies, no regrets, and fuck anyone that doesn't like it. But I consciously know that I won't enjoy large amounts at once because only the really cheap chocolate doesn't lose its impact after a couple of bites. Hershey's is the same from the first bite until the tenth, if you don't mind that regurge thingy it does (and I do, so I rarely have more than a single piece even when I'm in the mood for cheap chocolate). But the mid tier mass produced stuff, you lose the nuances it does have after two to three bites and it's just not as potent an experience, so I prefer to space it out more.
The really good stuff you could keep eating without losing the magic, but it's so intense you don't want/need to. It satisfies in a different way.
So, I choose to just be careful with the bags when I have them and store them away from wherever I am. But damn, if I forget? Gone in a day or two instead of the week+ it should be
I don't know if it's regular aging, side effects of covid, for the fact that corporations are making their food shittier and shittier, but very few snacks that I used to be able to eat endlessly taste good enough for me to do that anymore. like something happened to all dressed chips that they just aren't crack like they used to be.
this goes for a lot of processed foods. things like fresh local strawberries taste just as good as ever, which is why I think it's actually just the enshittification of food
ive been eating mostly frozen burritos and coco pebbles for about 6 weeks. does that count?
Cashew. Keep them away from my sight or I'll eat them all.
Go to Fortaleza, Brazil.
They sell cashew EVERYWHERE. Stands by the beach will have giant sacks filled with cashews. Restaurants have cashew juice. Supermarkets have cashew jam, candy, concentrate, cakes, baked goods, Sodas... All dirt cheap.
After that trip, I think I had my fill of cashews. Now I barely eat it.
10/10 trip.

Cashew juice? My brain can't process how it might taste.
If you aren't familiar with how cashews grow, it'll blow your mind. They look like this

That top part is called the cashew apple. It's edible and apparently tastes pretty good. It doesn't ship very well so people outside the area where they grow don't usually experience them. I'm guessing the juice comes from that.
Oh wow, I was not aware of that. That's a shame. I'll keep this in mind whenever I travel somewhere it grows! Thank you for the info.
That is correct. From what I remember, the fruit is very astringent and has a very small window of being ripe and sweet to eat before it goes sour, which limits transportation and export. But you might find juice concentrate in your local Latin American shop.
That trip would be the end of me! But probably worth it.
It absolutely is worth it!
Have a whole day dedicated to cashews. Have some cashew juice with toast and cashew jam for breakfast, then go to the cashew museum in Fortaleza, eat the fruit, the nut, have some cashew liquor, ice cream, cashew nut bread...
That's how I realised I had my fill. I came back home several pounds heavier but I was worth it.
E.L. Fudge. I can destroy a whole box without trying, but my BMI tells me to roll it back every time.
No snack is safe from me.
But I would like to say that chicaronnes/pork rhinds are the weirdest snack food. It's meat (well, skin) but in the form of a corn puff like substance.
Peanut butter M&Ms are so completely addictive to me.
Oh one of my worse ones are Sisu Horna, which is a brand of small (finnish) salmiakki candy. They're made of sugar mixed with plenty of ammonium chloride, and with some licorice and salt for spicing. I will eat the whole small bag at once and then the insides of my mouth will burn raw lmao, one bag is only 40g but it's one of the stronger salmiakki candies that's commonly available. But it is worth it. These days I try to avoid buying them since my intestines are all fucked up from autoimmune disease and eating the whole bag of them doesn't exactly make it any better
Chocolate covered orange jelly, whether sticks, cubes, or otherwise. I will devour the entire container when we get them. It's kinda terrible. They're addictive though.
