I appreciate the outpour of support if it is my FINAL film days. But I meant the actors not me. Lol But much love to all of you for caring.

According to a recent Red Letter Media video, Sean Connery's last role was voicing the title character in "Sir Billi," Scotland's first feature-length computer animated film.

"A retired veterinarian living in a remote Scottish village encounters a goat who thinks he's a dog, an Admiral who's afraid of the water, and a beaver who was raised by rabbits."

Raul Julia - Street Fighter.

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago

I knew I was missing a good one.

I may have missed something obvious here, but why "final"?

[–] Deadvikk@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think they meant the actor's final films?

[–] Curious_Canid@piefed.ca 4 points 1 day ago

Thank you. I knew there was something I wasn't getting.

The land before time - Duckie's VA :(

[–] ummthatguy@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago

That one has got to be just the most gut wrenching of that category. Had all but forgotten, were it not for your reminder.

Sounds like you plan in dying after that final binge.

  • Heath Ledger: The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus
  • Paul Newman: Cars
  • John Wayne: The Shootist
  • Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe: The Misfits

+1 for Imaginarium. Love that movie.

Ledger died in the middle of filming. He was the lead. The director and a few of Ledger's friends cooked up a crazy way to salvage it.

Given the "dream world" premise and what scenes in the regular world were complete, it wound up working in their favor. Also a real sucker for Terry Gilliam's madness.

[–] bigbangdangler@reddthat.com 2 points 1 day ago

The Shootist is the movie that convinced me John Wayne was an actual actor in a career filled with movies where he just played John Wayne.

An American tail: Fifel goes west, last John Stewart voice role.

[–] Wolf314159@startrek.website 1 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Do you mean James Stewart (Vertigo, It's a Wonderful Life, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington)?

[–] Inucune@lemmy.world 1 points 19 hours ago

Yes, my bad.

I havent seen it, but Ma Rainey's Black Bottom was Chadwick Boseman's final film.

Actually, his last six films: Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame, 21 Bridges, and Da 5 Bloods were all filmed after his diagnosis and during his treatment.

He went out like an absolute giant.

e: Damn, now I have to add Giant, James Dean's final film.

Watch Ma Rainey. Damn fine film.

I believe that the 1986 Transformers: The Movie was Orson Welles's final role! He sounds pretty good, but I think there was some audio processing done to touch up any roughness

[–] SreudianFlip@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Kubrick Eyes Wide Shut

He was trying to warn us and here we are

[–] Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

You'll have to include Saratoga. Jean Harlow was dying/died of kidney failure during filming. See if you can spot the doubles they used to finish the film.

Final Destination: Bloodlines for Tony Todd.

I wasn't his biggest fan and I've never seen Candyman, but his farewell in Bloodlines honestly really got to me.

[–] EvilBit@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

I heard they basically let him just deliver a message of his choice to the audience in character, with everyone completely aware that it was his last appearance. It was actually a really beautiful way to honor his legacy and experience. I thought the movie was great and that scene in particular was really special.

Salome's Last Dance

Imogen Millais-Scott's first and last film. I read she had diabetes and was very weak and nearly blind during filming, not sure about info about her.
