The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules (interactive)

Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.

All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.

Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.

Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.

Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.

If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

Hi, I'm am waiting for a client's payment. However, I can expect the payment by the end of the next week, so I haven't gotten the money yet.

I would like to buy something that costs about 100$, it's not necessary at all but I'd like to buy it.

The ideal scenario would be a client who pays upfront (could happen anytime). I have some electronic parts that I can sell on craigslist or ebay. Other than that I'm clueless.

Try odd jobs for neighbor or friends. Fix pc or software they need. Little jobs can add up quick. Do things they can't do themselves.

[–] Baguette@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago

In 24 hours is probably not realistic

Unless you can/want to do odd jobs, door to door sales pitch (like mowing the lawn), most jobs will have a brief delay (paperwork).

Your easiest bet is credit card (no interest needed if you pay it off) or buy now pay later services (very predatory if you dont pay back in time)

You could also ask a friend/relative but that will put a lot of burden on your relationship with them even if they are willing.

The fact that you want to spend 100 bucks that you dont have on something you don't need probably explains the lack of that 100 bucks in the first place.

This has to be a bait.

For the record: I have savings I'm deliberately not touching. Hence posting in a community literally called "No Stupid Questions."

I'm often asking myself "how can I make this happen?" instead of just giving up and waiting for cashflow.

Glad I read this comment - it completely changes my impression of you. Good luck - but srsly with the minimal info you put in the post, you have to expect critical comments like the ones you're seeing here.

Don't give up, ask yourself how you can have $200 by the end of the week.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Suck 2000 dicks for a nickel each.

[–] Aeao@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

Or one dick for 100 if you’re good at it.

turning a trick?

Do not buy things you cannot afford unless it is an extreme necessity for you to continue living your life (like a car).

Check out Temp services though. Many of them have apps on your phone you can use and you can sign up and work within the same day or two days. Easy quick money. Just make sure you can pass a drug test.

They should be paying me to post this shit

[–] nutbutter@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Can someone post a guide on how to become a drug dealer?

[–] Aeao@lemmy.world 1 points 5 hours ago

Do you own a pit bull? You’re going to need a pit bull.

Credit cards are used for such things but don't buy stuff if you don't have the money for it.

[–] ITGuyLevi@programming.dev 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Paying them off before interest hits is paramount.

[–] Dultas@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

Gotta say, someone asking the internet how to make a 100 bucks to buy something they confess they don't need in 24 hours instead of waiting a week to get paid... Does not strike me as someone who can do that.

If you are an average web developer, here is a scam that I discovered recently:

There is one guy who makes the shittiest web sites for local communities, cities, or nonprofits. The kind of web site that no one reads, and contains a few articles or piece of news. This asshole charges each client up to $2000 a month for "maintenance" which is mostly "add an article every 6 months."

It's the kind of job that you could do with any blog subscription (like WordPress or Ghost) for $20 a month, and you could charge it $500 or less. 1 client, $500 every month for five minutes of work, forever.

If you can convince people that your method is cheaper and better, you could be a billionaire overnight. Yes, I'm bitter.

Goddamn just a couple of websites and you have a comfortable salary, that's crazy

[–] one_old_coder@piefed.social 5 points 2 days ago

I was reluctant to post that because it's a bit off-topic but it's true. It's the kind of businessman who read a few books on HTML and sold his crap to local people.

A friend of mine has one web site with that guy (and that's how I discovered the scam), and I told him I would take care of it for the price of the hosting ($10 + domain name and stuff every month instead of $1600), but anyone can do that if they have the guts and/or balls and/or lack of empathy to contact and scam people.

Day labourer. Easy to get started but it's pretty hard work.

[–] Whitebrow@lemmy.world 20 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Pawn shops or jewelry stores that buy stuff might be options

Odd jobs like washing dishes at short staffed restaurants might also get you a day’s wage if you’re lucky to know some people in the business

[–] WeirdGoesPro@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 2 days ago

I also want to point out that a pawn shop will temporarily pawn an item without selling it and give you money, but that is reliant on the client paying you. If you are confident that they will, it is a good option, but don’t pawn anything you’ll miss.

Sell your plasma / blood?

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Sell feet pics to degenerates.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 9 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Any degenerates wanna buy some feet pics? They're perfectly healthy feet, you don't wanna miss 'em! I got all 10 toes, too.

[–] swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 days ago (1 children)

all 10 toes

Oh, I'll pass then

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Two of them are really small, I can angle the photo so that you barely even notice it?

[–] swab148@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I appreciate the offer, but it's just not the same...

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

I could make you love me. :(

[–] Atropos@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago

Getting your business started can be tough! I'd be happy to help - send me your feet pics, along with 25 cents, and I'll send you a feedback postcard in 4-6 weeks!

Unfortunately a solid suggestion.

[–] Azzu@leminal.space 0 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

... no

Degenerates want to get feet pics of people they know in some way, so as long as they aren't famous or already have some kind of following, that's not going to work.

Random feet pics are something you can get at any point in time and don't need to pay for.

[–] Tja@programming.dev 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

If it was that easy there would be a wiki or something about feet.

[–] Azzu@leminal.space 1 points 1 day ago

I'm not sure what you're saying. Easy to get feet pics or easy to make money with it?

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 days ago

You can sign up for surveys. Sign up for them until you get one, could be in 24 hours, might take a bit longer. There are sites that have endless like corpo surveys for their stupid products, often on zoom or something.

[–] TehBamski@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

Craigslist odd jobs seems like a easy way to find something and that pays under the table.

If you have a lawn mower and you're willing to interact with multiple people, you could go around and see if anyone is in need of their lawn mowed this week.

-- Adding to this, if you have a weed-eater or edger, you could see about doing their edging instead or as well.

[–] Krudler@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Find the "cash jobs" Group on your local FB and do a few hours of pick-up yard work, etc.
