Didn't the steam machine have a shit gpu? Can it actually support high frame rate, high resolution VR? Makes me wonder what the steam frame will be capable of.

I am sad and little bit confused why they are not cooperating with protondb. For a company that leverages its customers all the time it seams so odd that they do all of this busy work all on their own.
Because they're better equipped and it enhances their platform to be a reliable one stop. That said protondb having user comments is incredibly helpful.
Also a point for not relying on protondb, they mark The Finals as a platinum ready to play game but it is a crashing nightmare deserving of silver at best. A common complaint by users there too.
So why rely on protondb if it's not a guarantee? They have orders of magnitude more data to draw a better picture than the user opt in aggregation of protondb that's faulty at times.
Steam Frame in Summer? Yea boi
The steam frame is coming in the summer, probrally at a significantly higher price than originally planned
probrally!
Atp I would be shocked if the steam frame launched at anything less than $1k, hell it might end up costing $1.5k. The steam machine is probably gonna cost around $1k
I'd put money on it starting at $2599 CAD
And it will still sell out in less than 30min
Of course, because that's tech in 2026. Pay more and expect shortages.
Very important to note that it reads "shipping this summer". That is pretty unambiguous. They are not just going to do some further reveal, or just begin taking preorders. Customers should finally actually have Steam Machine and Steam Frame in hand within the next few months.
Ah yes, nothing better than getting a heat stroke playing Beat Saber when it is 40°C in the apartment. /s
Okay, can we get the reservation system for the stream machine so I can buy it?
I’m also curious about be but don’t know how well it works for someone with glasses
A lot of VR headsets have enough room for you to wear glasses while using them, but it can be a little uncomfortable. There are also lots of options out there for corrective lenses that fit headsets. I like the ones from Reloptix. I'm pretty sure Valve said in the initial announcements that the Frame would have a system for corrective lenses, so there shouldn't be any need for special mods to make them fit.
Chances are VR Optician will have prescription lenses available. I have some for my rift s.
A didn’t know such a business existed, that’s cool, definitely mashes me feel more interested in trying VR
They've said that prescription lens inserts would be available for the steam frame. I have third-party ones for the Index, and they're great

If you're very short sighted, simply taking the lenses out may be an option.
Have you tried another VR system? I'm not sure how similar they all are but we have the quest and it works fine with my wife's glasses. Needs an extra spacer segment to actuallt fit them in though.
I don't know that much about it, but I'm assuming if ones fine theyre all fine sort of thing.
