!nostupidquestions is a community dedicated to being helpful and answering each others' questions on various topics.
The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:
Rules (interactive)
Rule 1- All posts must be legitimate questions. All post titles must include a question.
All posts must be legitimate questions, and all post titles must include a question. Questions that are joke or trolling questions, memes, song lyrics as title, etc. are not allowed here. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.
Rule 2- Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.
Your question subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Questions which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding META posts and joke questions.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-question posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
On fridays, you are allowed to post meme and troll questions, on the condition that it's in text format only, and conforms with our other rules. These posts MUST include the [NSQ Friday] tag in their title.
If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.
Rule 7- You can't intentionally annoy, mock, or harass other members.
If you intentionally annoy, mock, harass, or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.
Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.
Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.
Let everyone have their own content.
Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

As someone with ADHD, no absolutely not lol. However I do it all of the time anyway
No, it's better to have awareness of both. What needs to be done, how long it takes, and what dependencies exist. I feel like taking a nap, but I have work and house chores. So I'll take care of some small things that aren't too taxing while I drink coffee and regain some energy.
If I have the motivation to do the task it doesn't matter how I ask myself, I will do it.
Likewise if I have no motivation.
@Nester meaning of the second sentence ?
If I have no motivation to do a task, no matter how I talk to myself I probably won't do it
All my family members in my house have chronic illnesses, so any given day I may be taking them to scheduled appointments, the ER, or massaging my wife’s legs as she has severe neuropathy that causes her intense pain but my massage helps temporarily alleviate it. I’m also the sole working person in the family and the only one who can drive(until next month when my youngest gets his license!) most days I don’t get to pick my schedule, I might have all of 1 hour not consumed by the needs of the family on any given day and I must always be ready for my plans to be destroyed by an emergent event. I wish I could ask the question you pose.
Another thing, say "I get to". "I get to do laundry!" "I get to go to sleep soon!"
It does help
For me it’s wait tell my wife tells me what I’m going to do today!
@Astronut an interesting perspective which I wouldn't understand as l've got no such person in my life.
You get you one of them and you won’t have to think at all anymore. They’ll do all the thinking for you!
@Astronut and you're an automaton ??
Nah! Just your unaverage sumbitch that knows his wife is much more wiser and motivated enough to keep all things running smoothly. Robot I’m not. Do I know how to keep the cogs turning? Yes!
@Astronut do you seriously consider yourself un average ??
In many, many ways but that’s a whole book! I’m just saying that I am a good hard working ( though retired now) dude, but I don’t come close to my wife and her drive!
@Astronut the drive of a wife ??
I could live in a cardboard box and be happy. We have a half million dollar home (That I rebuilt)and a nice hunk of money saved. All of that because my wife wanted it and worked her ass off to this day to get. I want for nothing, not because of me but because of her drive!
Some of column A, and some of column B. You are going to have tasks which need to get done, but you don't really want to do. Do I want to wash the dishes? Honestly, no. It's not something I enjoy doing. Do I need to wash the dishes? Yes, if I don't we get ants in the kitchen, the dishes start to smell and we run out of clean dishes. There will be tasks which ate less time dependent and I can do something I feel like doing first. Maybe the chores I need to get done around the house are done for the day and I can spend a bit of time playing a video game.
Life isn't all playtime and roses. Sometimes:

It totally depends if you are working for yourself or somebody else.
