This is why we need re education centers

  1. Corporations are the ones who would lose money to climate change regulations which is why they spend so much fighting against them. Why on earth would they make up a hoax like that?

  2. The resources used and impact on the climate is like one of THE BIGGEST reasons people oppose AI and it's talked about constantly

What 700 people saw that and were like "holy fuck good point"

arriving at "greenwashing is just marketing" and still getting the stupidest possible conclusions from it

there is a reason it works. it requires two step thinking, something people seem to often fail.

great way to put it. i've always wondered why a lot of right wingers will admit all politicians are corrupt and bought and that's why everything sucks, so we should just get rid of them. but they never have that second step as you put it and think "who's paying them to be like this?" which is obviously the capitalists they were tricked into worshipping, but are also somehow supposedly against, while also boot licking them

It is so incredible how these conspiracy theorists will just consistently, every time, completely miss the mark. Like, they almost understand something and then they just go in the exact opposite direction. It's fascinating how they will always end up supporting the actual fucked up status quo while claiming to oppose some kind of vague "tyranny" like clockwork, every time.

It's almost like they're a form of controlled opposition designed to push people away from genuine anti-capitalist sentiment or something.

Bro is grasping when the real answer is corporations are always fake

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Corporations are people. That's why they get to give the government money. Great country we have in america.

[–] Sanctus@anarchist.nexus 6 points 1 day ago

Woah woah there, commie. Thats free speech they're giving the government right there. Not an ounce of corruption exists on these shores.

Because as far as their concerned, climate change is a narrative pushed by the elites in order to enact their nefarious agenda.

The idea that climate change is an annoying thing researchers and concerned citizens pester their leaders about never occurs to conspiracy types. This is because conspiracy types share something in common with "the elite": they're both perfectly content with the status quo. The conspiracist rectifies this contradiction by imagining movie plots to project onto reality.

Stupid elites are always trying to stop me, a simple oil executive from making an honest 1 trillion dollars.

I've been trying to warn the public for years about the nefarious schemes of the elites, but only publicly elected officials and conservative news media broadcasters seem to be listening.
