Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, toxicity and dog-whistling are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them

4) NSFW is okay, within reason

NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online

I’m more of an embracist. I live in a house on top of a hill, top floor with beautiful view on the surrounding houses and nature. I use modern tech, if it helps to improve my live and its enjoyment. I invest in a cleaner, fairer world by being politically active and my vote. I occasionally do visit caves, for instance to learn more about neolithic man, indeed Learning new stuff about the surrounding world brings me great joy. Basically i love to interact with my fellow humans.
Oh I don't mind interacting with people and going to shows etc, thats fun. But not all the time. I'm not surrounded by the greatest people. Which is fine.
Someone's got to do it! I myself dont believe any of that really gets anything done, but maybe it does. In America at least, I don't believe voting works. I still do it of course.
I never really fit in with other people. I'm not interested in the things they are, and they're not interested in the things I am. So I just learned to play alone from a young age, and that continues to this day.
I like myself and enjoy my own company, so for the most part it's fine. I do feel lonely and melancholy about it from time to time, but I've felt that way while in a relationship too. It has less to do with being alone and more with how hard it is to find anyone similar who really "gets me."
Yeah, I very much resonate with what you said there. I live life on my own terms and generally follow trends 5 to 15 years behind.

Edit:
Side note I have always preferred basements and I love caves. Not sure why.
Surrounded by impenetrable ground with one known entrance. Sense of safety?
Very much the same. I have specific interests too and dont live in an area around people who share them (moral and hobbies).
Its just hard to find folks to hang out with. They either have families, only want to hang out at bars, or are obsessed with staring at tik Tok on their phones and talking about right wing conspiracies.
The good part is I also enjoy just being by myself most of the time. I'm really good at not being bored.
