Definitely seems like an inspiration. I agree though, this isn't exactly a unique premise. The Antonio Banderas movie Automata also has the same plot. But Automata has more cyberpunk visuals than Mars Express.

If the punks aren’t actively fighting against a megacorp, they’re still dealing with living in a world completely dependent on high technology.
