Oh wow, that ESA letter is just so full of misinformation and misdirection, it's kind of embarrasing. At the same time, the POG Act is clearly getting under some people's skin, so that means the movement is working! Hope Ross & co. can keep up the pressure.
Othis isn't just for videogames either, be it Autodesk getting rid of perpetual licenses and phasing out activations for older licenses, tesla turning the self driving feature from a one time purchase to a subscription, and more and more companies rent seek without actually innovation making their product better, leaving consumers stuck in a situation where they need to try and find competent competitors or the open source community for similar-ish products.
