Community rules (click to expand)

1. Follow the site-wide rules

2. Be civil
  • Understand the difference between a joke and an insult.
  • Do not harrass or attack users for any reason. This includes using blanket terms, like "every user of thing".
  • Don't get baited into back-and-forth insults. We are not animals.
  • Leave remarks of "peasantry" to the PCMR community. If you dislike an OS/service/application, attack the thing you dislike, not the individuals who use it. Some people may not have a choice.
  • Bigotry will not be tolerated.
  • 3. Post Linux-related content
  • Including Unix and BSD.
  • Non-Linux content is acceptable as long as it makes a reference to Linux. For example, the poorly made mockery of sudo in Windows.
  • No porn, no politics, no trolling or ragebaiting.
  • Don't come looking for advice, this is not the right community.
  • 4. No recent reposts
  • Everybody uses Arch btw, can't quit Vim, <loves/tolerates/hates> systemd, and wants to interject for a moment. You can stop now.
  • 5. 🇬🇧 Language/язык/Sprache
  • This is primarily an English-speaking community. 🇬🇧🇦🇺🇺🇸
  • Comments written in other languages are allowed.
  • The substance of a post should be comprehensible for people who only speak English.
  • Titles and post bodies written in other languages will be allowed, but only as long as the above rule is observed.
  • 6. (NEW!) Regarding public figuresWe all have our opinions, and certain public figures can be divisive. Keep in mind that this is a community for memes and light-hearted fun, not for airing grievances or leveling accusations.
  • Keep discussions polite and free of disparagement.
  • We are never in possession of all of the facts. Defamatory comments will not be tolerated.
  • Discussions that get too heated will be locked and offending comments removed.
  •

Please report posts and comments that break these rules!

Important: never execute code or follow advice that you don't understand or can't verify, especially here. The word of the day is credibility. This is a meme community -- even the most helpful comments might just be shitposts that can damage your system. Be aware, be smart, don't remove France.

I love using Brave browser… swipes away crypto ad banner …because there is a massive focus… swipes away crypto ad banner …on privacy….

Privacy against big tech but brave is just an indie operation please give them your data 🥺

I’ve used Firefox based browsers for as long as I can remember and I’d rather slam my dick in a car door than switch to garbage like brave. Every single one of those browsers is the same bloated Google-flavoured bullshit wearing a different fucking clown costume. Firefox is the only browser that doesn’t make me feel like I’m being rawdogged by corporate spyware every time I open a tab.. Piss on carpet !!

Brave is even worse as they've been caught doing shady shit without permission on more than one occasion.

I've used firefox for ages, but I still switched to waterfox recently. They promised to not push the AI crap on you, so that was enough for me. Also it's just firefox with a blue logo lmao

    Why do you prefer it?

Fuck brave browser, all my homies hate brave browser

    [–] sonofearth@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

My company’s ERP software doesn’t work well on Firefox unfortunately. So brave is the next best option for me. Other chromium based browsers only work with UBO Lite which is very limiting for the amount of filters I have imported. So for work I use Brave and for personal I use FF with betterfox user.js.

It's cool that you get to do erotic role play professionally.

That's what people think of these days? Grrmbl.

Reminds me of some old, old, old tech humour bit where some biz manager ended up in fistfight with the head of IT support because both thought they were in charge of "ERP" and the biz bro felt the IT nerd was overstepping his boundaries. It ended with an email from the CEO that clarified a few acronyms: "ERP = Enterprise Resource Planning. ERP = Emergency Response Plan. Hopefully this clears things up."

It's funny that CNC can either be one of these industrials machines I don't know much about, or Consented NonConsent

    [–] Squirrelanna@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 16 hours ago

It's what I think of as someone who writes collaboratively as a hobby. I can't speak for everyone lmao. All I know is that I chuckle whenever I see the acronym in the wild.
