Lol, I thought she had at least five years on me, she looks rough for her age. Also is she Christian? I could have sworn she was Jewish.

[–] dmention7@midwest.social 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Thought the same, but surprised she is 10+ yrs younger than me. MAGA is a hell of a drug.

Holy shit... I thought for a second it was some college class book...then realized... I don't know of a college that does that lol, mine didn't...then realized holy shit this is 2011 HS... I'm nearly a decade older than her and she looks like she's 50+ to me...

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Same. Holy crap. Hate ages people fast AF, but then once they look like they're one foot in the grave, they live forever.

[–] SupraMario@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Yea no kidding.... McDonald's had one job and it's failing terribly at it.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 13 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Yeah that's... confusing, as she has very often and very loudly reminded everyone that she is Jewish.

Its on her wiki page.

... ?

She apparently started her 'anti anti Jewish activism' in college, a couple of years after 2011.

... ... ???

EDIT: Also, she looks rough because she's into (arguably pioneered), the MAGA face style of plastic surgery.

It is not slight nor subtle, it is ... approaching clownish, basically, like a caricature of a human face.

Those lower case t necklaces were very in fashion.

I think that’s the result of the required republican plasticization for women in the party.

We’re used to older actresses or whatever getting plastic surgery. All the usual stuff from face lifts, buccal fat removal, chin tucks, lip filler and all that. It gives them a certain look.

So when a younger woman gets plasticized she now looks far more like the older women who have had a lot of work done, and that greatly contributes to the “older” look.

I'll never understand it, but to each their own.

[–] frank@sopuli.xyz 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Holy shit she's 33??? I assumed she was at least a rough looking 45 or a plastic surgeried up 55. There's no way ...

[–] PhoenixDog@lemmy.world 2 points 1 week ago

Hate ages you.

[–] Chivera@lemmy.world 1 points 1 week ago

Same, I thought she was in her 50s

I was thinking maybe she went to the same school of grift as George Santos.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Power happened. Power corrupts.

How did she get power? Your guess is as good as mine, I haven't paid attention.

[–] Zorque@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

I haven’t paid attention.

That's how.

[–] kittenzrulz123@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

As the saying goes "power doesnt corrupt, it enables"

Everything she does is entirely her own fault

Well, no, but it needs to be got rid of and there's nothing that can be salvaged from her. I'd guess even the liver is a wreck.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Oh my god that explains everything.

Laura Loomer is 'revenge of the bullied awkward fat girl.'

[–] Blibly@lemmy.world 37 points 1 week ago (4 children)

Fuck it I'll say it... I think she was kinda cute. If she got bullied for looking like that it really shows how awful our society is and what it does to us all. No wonder she's broken. It could have been any of us, really. Genuinely sad to think about.

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

I mean... personally, I do not find her kinda cute, but I realize that everyone has different things in different combinations that make them appear attractive to them.

I do totally agree that it should not be the case that an arguable adorkable looking person should be mocked and treated cruelly for their looks alone, but also, I graduated high school not too many years before she did... and well yeah, high schoolers are very often demons with skin suits.

Also... her wiki says her family, her upbringing was pretty violent, and her brother has/had schizophrenia.

So... having been around schizophrenics myself... yeah that can be basically maddening.

I agree that it is a tragedy to some degree, but I feel like that stops mattering as an excuse or explanation when you start to do as much and as significant broad (and direct) harm as she has done.

On the other hand...

Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that.

She was definitely cute. What happened to fill her with vile hatred I can't say, I don't know what she went through. But the cute Laura there might as well be dead now. Replaced by a dark, evil one. And her looks have mirrored the darkness in her soul. It's a shame that people turn bad. But just like food, it affects the look of it as well. And I understand someone's personality affecting their subjective attractiveness to you, that's normal. But she wasn't always like that. Most people weren't. It takes some kind of outside force to make someone's internal views become that shitty, I don't believe people naturally suck that bad.

Also high energy chemistry and good metallurgy. But those also get pretty bright st least briefly, do maybe it still holds.

[–] merdaverse@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 week ago

She looked like a normal human being before the plastic surgery to become Jigsaw

[–] Tikiporch@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm high school, you can get bullied for four years for mispronouncing a word in English 1. "Hey, there goes ex-eno-fobe Joe."

[–] 4am@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 week ago

So, same as it ever was

[–] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Nope. I had a conscience. A shitty one at that age, but a conscience.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago

Really? She was actually cute back then. The plastic surgery and hate is what uglied her.

[–] wake@quokk.au 12 points 1 week ago

"ass of 2011"

[–] Beetschnapps@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

“I thought I killed Laura Loomer. I went out to the desert, and I killed her… I spent 3 years trying to become Laura…”

[–] Zirconium@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

I think political parties/organizations (talking particularly on the Right) groom almost all of their public facing people. Charlie Kirk is one example, weird stuff going around with Erika Kirk after he was already taken into TPUSA. Doesn't make them any less worse people but it's scary and sad to see

[–] pjwestin@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Like all right-wingers, when she says, "I believe in," she doesn't mean, "these are the principals by which I conduct myself." She means, "this is how I think others should react to me, regardless of how I conduct myself."

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

That would sort of track for a young ladywith a conservative upbringing.

I do feel like that's an especially difficult position to be born in. Not the worst of course, but church women have been through or are currently in a high pressured high control system.

Nothing happened. Those little brain farts in a yearbook are always lies.

I'm pretty sure AI/photoshop is what happened.

Like everything on the internet that's just too good to be true, it's not true.
