"We did it, Patrick! We made a technological breakthrough!"

A place for all those who loathe AI to discuss things, post articles, and ridicule the AI hype. Proud supporter of working people. And proud booer of SXSW 2024.

AI, in this case, refers to LLMs, GPT technology, and anything listed as "AI" meant to increase market valuations.

Oh, whoopee. Another one wants to do an Eagle Eye.

This would just have their targets use cutouts, couriers, and dumbphones.

AI trained on Reddit data. What could possibly go wrong? We live in the stupidest timeline. Morons are going to burn the world down because they got made fun of on the internet.

Gemini: Sure! I can help with that! First, kys. Second, jet fuel doesn't melt steel beams so be sure to use something like napalm or a nuclear warheads

Now when they build a data center they can claim national security to override local objections. I'm guessing that a call to burn the data centers to the ground and commit acts of violence against the corporate officers would violate the terms of service for this site. So I wont do that.

Lol, remember when Google's motto was "Don't be evil"!? Now they're literally doing secret deals with this administration.

Hell, remember when they were actually fun!? They were content to offer good products and services and make gobs of money. But enshittification comes for everything, it seems. Because with capitalism, it's never enough...

I remember when that was their motto… but I don’t really remember a time when they were ever not a corporation. Most of the techy people I knew at the time were very wary of Gmail when it came out. That was before YouTube even existed to be bought out by Google because their own Google videos platform was failing miserably, and that was nearly 20 years ago.
