Stating the obvious here, but there haven't been calls for him to resign because people (correctly) understand that he would never.
I tried to read the Substack post but it seemed it wasn't going to be funny at all. Instead it seems to be 1,000s of words spinning in a gyre of pointlessness.
When you say “Trump would resign,” the immediate reaction is likely to be, “yeah, but he won’t, so what’s the point?”
It’s true that Trump is very unlikely to willingly step down. But calls for resignation can be powerful in themselves if repeated consistently and forcefully...
Also - "very unlikely"? I actually feel more pity than anger at the writer. Libs will do anything other than ~~going to therapy~~ even considering radical action.
Couldn't libs have this same energy for the global South rather than bilateral support for wars and military interventions?
