As a person who cares about the environment and people's health, I don't mind if beef prices go up a lot. Although it would be better if they went up intentionally as a plan to improve things.

Food is one of those things that is especially habit forming. If people take beef out of their normal routine, it tends to stay that way, even if the original reason is no longer relevant.

I stopped eating beef regularly because its too expensive. Now mostly the protein I put in food is chicken or chorizo sausage.

beef for seasme beef is a treat now.

Indeed, we never had pork and rarely had beef at my house growing up because of a previous Republican economic crisis so I find them disgusting as an adult. I wouldn't know how to prepare them either.

A pound of ground beef is now more than the US federal minimum wage.

I saw it advertised the other day on "Sale" for $11/lb

I haven't ate a hamburger in 31 years. I was 15 years old and decided I didn't like beef anymore. Countless chickens have died by my hands tho.

Could always eat a bit less of it. It's not compulsory.

If anyone wants some plant-based recipes to save some money, there’s some good communities on here for that:
