Welcome to lemmy! I'm finishing up ni no kuni: wrath of the white witch tomorrow and it is delightful if you haven't tried it. Ghibli story and art.

I haven't played Ni No Kuni yet, but it has been on my backlog. Did they do a physical copy on Switch?
Maybe? I have a physical ps4 copy, don't have a switch. I'm finishing my second playthrough (I liked it enough to check out from the library, beat, buy my own copy, and beat again) and my wife is a few hours behind me in her first run. I'm looking forward to trying the second game too.
If it wasn't obvious by my pic, I'm male to female presenting, and not currently on HRT.
For what it's worth, I was confused until I saw the comm I was in. So no, not obvious by the pic. At least to me.
Aw well thank you! I'll definitely take the compliment ☺️
Hii Natalie! I’m pleased to meet you. I don’t have a name yet as I am still working things out for myself. So Maple will do fine.
Since you are into Linux, what would be your top 3 tips for migrating from MS to Linux? I am dragging my feet on that one tbh.
Have you had a good Easter Time in Sydney? Do you celebrate?
Hii Maple!
Ooo top 3 tips, give me a second haha.

Make sure all the software you need is available on Linux, or alternatives that you can live with. In the case of alternatives, see if there is Windows versions of those apps, you can begin your transition over while still using Windows lol.
-
Hardware compatibility is still a thing, although it is much much better these days than even say 3-4yrs ago. It can definitely be worth flashing a distro ISO to a USB stick and doing some testing in a live environment. This won't touch your system at all unless you actually install it.

Dual booting is always on option. However I've found that if I need Windows, then a W11 VM is good enough for my needs (host is currently Ubuntu 25.10, but I distrohop every few months lol). If you do dualboot, I've always heard keeping the drives separate instead of splitting drive space is recommended due to Windows shenanigans, but I'm not sure on this bit in particular.
And also, yes Easter was good here, I don't really celebrate but I will enjoy the time off work haha.
hi and welcome - I think you made a good choice in terms of which instance to join, @ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone is pretty amazing 💖
I’m male to female presenting, and not currently on HRT
you really don't have to answer, but out of curiosity - were you on HRT before and you're just temporarily not on estrogen, or are you early in transition and plan to start HRT soon? I wonder why not HRT, but also just generally what this means (e.g. you identify as "male-to-female presenting", I like to know how people want me to think of them in my head, and you seem like a woman to me - but I wanted to be careful and not assume you straightforwardly identify as a woman because of the language you used).
Anyway, I'm sorry if my question is inappropriate, so feel free to ignore it.
Glad you are here, and this seems like a fairly perfect community for you - Piefed and Lemmy have a lot of nerdy people who are into Linux and gaming 😁
Hii, definitely not inappropriate at all! I think it's a very fair question considering what I wrote in the body of my post.
I have never been on HRT, I've come very close a couple of times but never actually went ahead with it. The reasons behind this I'm not super comfortable going into online though.
I put down "male to female presenting" as honestly I don't even know what to label myself haha. I just think that this is the simplest way to describe me, I don't mind whatever labels people want to associate me with from there. Although, I do go by She/Her, or They/Them.
and you seem like a woman to me
Well that's my validation for the week already, haha thankyou!
It is not "obivious" by the pic. You simply look like a woman in her 30s
Aw well thankyou so much for saying that. Honestly kind of needed something like that lately, so thankyou ☺️
Hi is! As I wasnt around at the time of your previous introduction post, I'll just say hi, nice to meet you 👋
Nice to meet you also 😊
Is this your first dive into the Fediverse? Or have you been on other platforms?
I've been a little but on reddit, but I'm not sure if I ever even wrote a comment. I was very much an introvert lurker, but I'm trying to overcome it (starting here).
Nice photo! I'm currently also trying to get my hair that long for the first time.
Why did you want to migrate?
Hope things are going well.
I made my other account with the intention of eventually tracking down an instance to join that I feel I would be closer to in regards to community. I looked around, and did some research and concluded that blahaj.zone was for me ☺️
Good Day, Mam.
