And just like an extended warranty, you pay a ton for health insurance and they do everything they can to get out of paying for repairs.

My 40s have sucked, and I know it is only going to get worse.

Have you considered replacing your decaying flesh, with blessed steel?

Taking care of sleep, training and diet and my body is in the best shape and functionality it has ever been and thats during the time when it stereotypically starts to break down.

Folks you gotta take care of your body. We all have to do basic maintenance on our bodies throughout life.
The most basic resistance and cardio training, actually consistent and with some intensity. Controlling most of the diet, mostly just home cooked foods, nothing fancy even needed. Proper sleep hygiene.

All of those will go a long way to keep our bodies functional, but only if done consistently and for as long as you want to remain functional.

look at mr. millionaire here who can afford to make home cooked meals!

I've never understood that point. Home cooked meals are cheaper than fast food or ready made meals or just junk food.

Buckwheat, rice, pasta, potatoes, oats can be bought in bulk and are one of the cheapest components. Unflavored lean meats are rather cheap as well, cheaper than candy bars per KG/lbs. Buying those on a sale, separating packages out for portions and throwing in the freezer.

Greens (cucumber, paprika, tomatoes) are the most expensive component, but even those are cheaper than junk food.

Only argument might be that ready made meals are slightly cheaper if comparing single item price not per KG/lbs, but most components for home cooking are for multiple meals.

Easy to say, I need to sleep 9-11h to get enough sleep that undoable in this capitalist hellscape.

[–] Shellofbiomatter@lemmus.org 3 points 1 day ago

I do agree, it's easier said than done, but that doesn't mean it still shouldn't be prioritized. Yes it will likely come at the expense of something else, usually even something we like to do.

Even i can get on average only around 7h, less during week, more on the weekends and that's after prioritizing sleep, but it's still better than previous 5-6h on average.

So don't aim for a perfect solution. Just aim to improve it.

Never forget.

Yes, I'm generaly healthier tham in my early twenties, but I still have the chronic diseases that never should have been there.

And I only got confirmed Hellicobacter Pilory, and eradicated it thanks to my Father getting diagnosed by a private lab, which I then went to.

Even with a private clinic, good luck getting diagnosed, you have to spend money on tests yourself.

Sorry to hear about that. Yeah sometimes life can screw you over, even if doing everything right. But even then, basic maintenance of our bodies shouldn't be discarded, it still can improve quality of life.
