Hey everyone. Hope you are all doing well and are experiencing some spring weather finally. This week I finished my replay of Persona 5 Royal. My one critique from a second playthrough is that with how much Kasumi takes the stage as a major character (and by how much the game clearly pushes a Joker/Kasumi romance) the fact that she is only a full party member for the final palace, which any player who knows what they are doing will blow through in a single go just makes all that effort fall a little flat to me. Anyway, hope you all have had a good weekend so far and have a great week

I haven't played it for years so I decided to give Disco Elysium another run.

Playing a himbo with high pyche and physical (key skill inland empire) going to make Harry into manic pixie dream cop

So basically I'm going to just pick whatever choices I find funniest

  • more ostranauts, god damn is that game good
  • a concerning amount of TCG card shop simulator, its foundation is what i'm 99% sure is a unity asset pack for "make your own shop sim game" but the dev clearly has a passion for TCGs as they have added an entire fake card game on top with some pretty fun designs. according to the roadmap, they intend to make the card game itself playable which will be interesting.
  • played a little suit for hire, a john wick-em up that is a little janky but pretty fun and challenging top down/third person (you can switch) shooter

The fam has collectively been playing a lot of Pokopia. I’ve started on RE9, so far it’s done a really nice job of recreating the feel of the early RE games (minus the fixed camera angles).

finished up a run of RE4 original, for fun. Gonna finally play Death Stranding 2 this week

I tried out GMing a Blades in the Dark session last night it was pretty fun. Interesting game flow. What would be a combat encounter in a more traditional game is resolved in a single roll from the player. The bulk of gameplay is heist plotting.

I gave up on Sonic Heroes, now I'm playing Sonic CD instead. I'm having a lot more fun with that, though I keep messing up the spin dash because I try to do it like how it works in Sonic 2 lol. I also started Yakuza for the PS2, using the "Yakuza Restored" patch (basically an undub patch). Fun game so far! I played some of Kiwami years ago, but I'm not a big fan of remakes in general so I'm glad I can play the original without the scuffed dub/localization.

Playing Ragnarok Online still, trying out some of the classes on a private server.

Been playing more Total Warhammer. Finished my Skarbrand campaign and moved on to Yuan Bo, deciding to stay in both Lustria and Cathay. Cathay just kinda doesn't do it for me, their roster seems generally weak and uninteresting. The green dragon himself is fine, I guess. Dechala is a fucking menace and I now need to pivot my 4 Cathay armies to being armor-piercing or else they'll just do NOTHING. I do have a fun mod installed that enables WoC promotions for every faction, so I can just swap my peasant archers into gunners and grenadiers, but I really dislike gunpowder armies so we'll see.

Also played a bit more warframe, got another weapon from the nova/trinity resurgence and am back to grinding ESO and waiting for Shadowgrapher and Styanax Prime which should also be soon.

Sonic Tameshi is so awesome, oh my goodness. The OST is like one of the best things ever. Might honestly be my favorite Sonic fangame currently. Don't like that there's no custom keybinding, but it was simple enough to adjust to so it's not a strong blemish in my books.

I'm a huge fan of Mega Man Battle Network. Shanghai.exe Genso Network is not only a great MMBN fangame with Touhou characters, it's also incredibly polished and has a lot of QoL features that might spoil me the next time I play BN6 for like the 10th time. The story is classic BN charm, but it did have some moments that made me raise an eyebrow(basically anytime Arabstan was brought up in the plot and that annoyingly common trope of making fun of gay people by treating male sexual harassment against another male as a joke)
