Precisely. Space is the ultimate high ground. Once the cage tower is high enough that it can be dangled from a geosynchronous orbital platform the defense will be impenetrable.
Or the blades, must protect both!

Slightly. But I don't know why you are trying to solve the problem of making things in air move downward.
The drone solved that problem. The russian heli went down. Hence the noncredibility of the cope cage defense.
Are there examples of Russian anti drone cages for ships? I'm thinking it looks like waterworld ships
