You would think it would get country's to stop relying on Dino piss an start enforcing alternatives.

As usual, concise and to the point writing by the Spinoff.

I actually think we're more secure now that Marsden pt isn't operating, rather than relying on just one refinery, that can only refine a fairly narrow type of crude, we can buy our fuel from refineries all over the world, meaning we're much less vulnerable to localised events.

We also have multiple import terminals, meaning we don't rely on just one facility to bring fuel into the country.

Our fuel supply is no more fragile than any other country, I think.

Does having Marsden Pt operating stop us importing as needed?

Or is it that we did not really have much infrastructure for it because of refining locally, so couldn't beef up imports in a hurry?

Our fuel supply is no more fragile than any other country, I think.

Someone mentioned at the pub last night that the US drills and refines more oil products than it uses. Attacking the Middle East is a good way of driving up the price for those products, they don't even need the oil from the countries they attack.

USA also have the "cooperation" of Venezuala, who holds the largest oil fields in the world. So they are just oil mad at this point.

I dont think they actually make a good case that our supply is fragile. Actual its the opposite. Sure we dont domestically produce and refine crude but we do have the option to buy from multiple nearby refineries and can buy from further if we really needed. We stock ~50 days supply of fuel to buffer short term shock. The only thing that is bottlenecking supply is crude extraction capacity.

As long as crude is flowing we are fine. Currently we havent be unable to get a shipment of Petrol.

You aren’t not correct but double negatives can be difficult to understand.
