It is moral to kill all dictators and those who attempt to become dictators.

I'd flip that around and say that it's immoral not to.

Yeah the country has been an oligarchy for a lot longer than most people realize

yup. at least my entire life. fun thing is, i learned how to become an oligarch. i'm poor as fuck and am a local oligarch simply because i learned that the town's historical society, not city council decides shit. so i started going to the historical society's meetings and joined (a good quarter of the society worked with me running the homeless shelters and social services so i was more than welcome). now i have a major voice in how my town is run, just gotta show up once a month.

fun thing, membership is free. you just have to show up. but no one does, so we decide what the town's history is going to be.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but fuuuck, at least give us until the midterms.

Declaring this now just gives it more power to take hold.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 6 points 4 days ago

I do disagree. We have to take it back but I don't see any value in pretending because we might reverse what has happened.

[–] doesit@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 days ago

Midterms will be either rigged or there will be a "state of emergency" or whatever.
Seems like a lot of people forgot what happened and what almost happened on January 6th. I strongly doubt power will be handed over.

Electoral politics got us into to this mess. Neither party is very interested in getting us out of it.
