I keep waking up in the middle of the night and now I am also getting headaches during the day. Might talk to the Dr about sleep apnea.

In going to get an echocardiogram to see what is going on. And will also have to wear a device for 24 hours that measures my heart rate.

Pretty nervous to be honest. The outcome of this will dictate how I live my life moving forward.

Hope it goes well and there's every chance it's easily dealt with. You said (I think) they thought you were a bit hyperthyroid. That's manageable and will give you racing heart. Even if it's something else there's meds and minor surgery that can fix. Lots of options if you catch stuff now! But yeah I have massive health anxiety around heart stuff so I get the stress. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿคž๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’™

Thanks so much :)

They put the thing on me which is waterproof which is nice and it connects to my phone.

The nurse said everything looks fine.

Waiting to do the eco.

Thanks to AI slop I feel I need to be so careful when checking out some obscure new release. Is this just released song with 2 views a solo passion project or is it part of a procession of slop someone is churning out. I shouldn't need to do this much research to listen to a song

i tripped over today on the footpath early this arvo, I should have been looking where i was going

I'm ok, I got up, brushed myself off, checked for broken bones and blood, there was none, so I continued on my way to the book shop

but my knees are getting sore , ow

I've been thinking if I wasn't fit and agile I could have hurt myself, getting older can be scary

Kidcalhoon2 loves the Simpsons ,

which is so awesome for me..ha

Also, new Tombow markers are quite disappointing to be honest. Budget entry is budget quality.

Peanut butter on HCBs is good, very good.

Filling this bit of knowledge away.

Also the banoffee ones from Aldi sound sickly sweet but they're actually very balanced. Worth a try if you don't mind a designer flavour.

My husband brought home custard tarts โค๏ธ and I've had the biggest roast pork & crackle roll of my life. Like we stacked that roll with crackle. Hopefully I can fit in the tart later with a cuppa tea. It's been 4 weeks since no sugar. I've done good.

RantBugger.

Spoke to the p's on their Japan boat last night. Bit of a worry.

Turns out ol' girl hasn't been having supplements (she has all of them with her) and hasn't had that much to eat for the first 7days. I told ol' boy before they left he's going to have to lean into the food sitch.. and he hasn't.

So that's 13 days after not being to eat much due to teeth extraction before going + now 7 on the boat. FUCK ME.

If I did 20 days of eating bugger all I'd be ruined.

He honestly thought he could delegate food to the boat and leave the supplements to her. FUCKED.

Her last words on the call "I just can't eat I don't know what to do". I will never forget that tone. She didn't speak anything else about the trip.

I feel worried, frustrated, angry and just sad.

And they've got 10 days left not even half way through

Fuck

Sent off a detailed email to him about what he needs to do food/supplement-wise but I'm half a world away.

If he can't get on top the food/supps sort of.. today.. I really don't know what will happen.

If your mum survives the trip and survives the weeks after they need a new way to be handled

they have to be assertively told what to do and when, even supervised

they have shown they are incapable of making choices

and your mum is asking to be told, asking to be looked after,

I suggest a home visit nurse but first can you contact the ship's doctor? I'm sure they would appreciate a head's up rather than having to deal with a health emergency on ship

[โ€“] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Is she unable or refusing? Have either of them spoken to ship staff about making some nice soft foods for her? You said it's a pretty bougie ship, can she even have miso soup? This must be super stressful dude.

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago

Both unable and refusing and I suppose they interelate. They spoke to the head chef about requirements when they boarded so I'm confused why they can't pull anything off. So we tried miso (i thought that's the obvious choice too) before they left from a few different places here and that was refusal but able. Tried a whole bunch of sashimi, able for some, refusal for others.

It's a really bougie ship. 24/7 room service. So speaking to them yesterday I asked if she'd ordered an iced coffee w/ chocolate and icecream (her usual thing she does here daily) and dump some coffee resource in (which is what usually happens here too) and no, didn't do that. Not refusal, very able, just didn't do it. What on earth do you do about that. grr.

[โ€“] StudChud@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I'm so sorry mate. Seriously. Farked up all ways to Sunday.

You're doing everything you can, and more, so take some time to try to do something for the mental health.

If there's anything we can do to help, please let us know. I may not have much but you got my listening ear and support.

[โ€“] Bottom_racer@aussie.zone 4 points 23 hours ago

Thanks dude. Means a lot :)

I guess here is the only place I can talk about this. And for that have to thank you all sincerely.

[โ€“] melbaboutown@aussie.zone 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (4 children)

Maybe this will highlight to him that she needs care. Maybe it will help them think about receiving some assistance with feeding. I have my fingers crossed for her that she returns safe and well.

More food ideas if you want them

That would be a stress for sure. Sounds like you well informed them of all this prior to the travel. I think it comes down to their right to risk aka independence. People are allowed to make foolish decisions then experience the consequences of that. It sucks for you having to watch it, but it's their choice.

There was a huge booking at trivia last night for a probus group. I'll need to remind myself when I'm old to properly get involved with one.

I helped a woman involved with a probus group when I was doing the tech support stuff, she said the men don't often get involved. I want to make sure I don't end up like that

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I tell my kids "It's unpog for breakfastmaxxing cerealchads to cortisol-bait milkcels by bowlmogging" and they just stare at me like they don't know what I'm talking about

[โ€“] Taleya@aussie.zone 1 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

I hate that i get that reference

[โ€“] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 1 points 4 hours ago

I listened to the QAA episode about Clavicular and his recent incident and it has just put all this vernacular in my brain recently
