4. Stay on-topic; no memes, funny videos, giveaways, reposts, or low-effort posts
This community is mostly for discussion and news. Remember to search for the thing you're submitting before posting to see if it's already been posted.
We want to keep the quality of posts high. Therefore, memes, funny videos, low-effort posts and reposts are not allowed. We prohibit giveaways because we cannot be sure that the person holding the giveaway will actually do what they promise.
5. Mark Spoilers and NSFW
Make sure to mark your stuff or it may be removed.
No one wants to be spoiled. Therefore, always mark spoilers. Similarly mark NSFW, in case anyone is browsing in a public space or at work.
6. No linking to piracy
Don't share it here, there are other places to find it. Discussion of piracy is fine.
We don't want us moderators or the admins of lemmy.world to get in trouble for linking to piracy. Therefore, any link to piracy will be removed. Discussion of it is of course allowed.

MODERATORS
I don't play/watch horror games, but I like watching ChristopherOdd, and he seems to have a LP series for RE9 right. He does some commentary on the gameplay but without talking over cut-scenes and such. His LPs are typically not completionist by any means, but he takes an appropriate amount of time exploring and pursuing the story.
Thanks! I watched a few minutes just now and I think this is exactly what I am looking for.
You can find full playthroughs of most games with no commentary on the YouTube channel MKIceAndFire.
PatStaresAt is your guy. RE is his cozy comfort series, and he's super knowledgeable about the franchise.

oh man. this is so the opposite of when I watch streaming people. I like the ones who chat.
It depends on the game. I really like grand poo Bear for that, but I really want to feel like I can experience resident evil without buying it.
Same. I like commentary and just people explaining their thought processes. Watching someone just silently play the game is so boring to me.
CarcinogenSDA is always nice. He fully completes the including collectables and no damage runs usually and he doesn't give very much comment. But he also does no comment runs on a seperate video.
I forgot about him. I used to watch his runs before.
I gotta give a shout-out to Scary Game Squad on Jesse Cox's channel, they are my favourite when it comes to horror games. It's a good old let's play too, so no chat to worry about!
ChristopherOdd, Mapocolops and Gab Smolders are my 3 main goto channels for playthroughs! I like the way they play, they don’t talk too much and enjoy the story and adventure more than things like achievements etc. If I like a game I watch all three play it a lot of times.
