If it doesn't come with a fully functioning set of robotic horse genitalia, then I'm not really sure what the point of this is.

For those experiencing disphoria for which that would help, this is genuinely a great idea lol. My first thought when I saw it was that it might be super useful for gender affirming care for those, but I guess a horse cock is even better lol

Do people experience dysphoria from not being a six legged centaur

imagine how far forward Trump could lean strapped into one of these babies

In the load-carriage experiment (n = 5), the Centaur robot achieved a load-sharing ratio of 52.22% ± 15.52%, reduced the metabolic cost by 35.16% ± 4.95%, and improved lateral gait stability compared to a regular backpack when carrying a 20 kg load, equivalent to 28.8% ± 4.03% of the participants’ body weight.

Millennials are killing the backpack industry

I was just talking to some friends about we (millenials) really should've doubled down on the industry killing.

Pfft. Doesn't even come with a bow and arrows, much less a blingy quiver.

My first thought was physiotherapy?

first bone glue, now centaurs. China isn't inventing the future, they're inventing fantasy.

[–] WilsonWilson@hexbear.net 13 points 1 day ago

They really are. I feel like one of these days I'll wake up and China will be gone. We'll find a lone Uni-tree robot doing Tai Chi @ Zhongnanhai with a note taped to its forehead:

We're moving to the Andromeda Galaxy. Good luck with that Capitalism thing tho. k bye

This could be great for partially paralyzed, stroke victims, cerebral palsy etc

Can carry heavy loads over rough terrain. Sherpas aren't gonna like this.

[–] Crucible@hexbear.net 14 points 1 day ago

Think of how many altitude sick, rich tourists they could carry with one of these bad boys, though

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 2 points 1 day ago

I doubt this can keep up with mountaineers yet
