YDI. Because your a troll who loves to troll.
Ye Power Trippin' Bastards
This is a community in the spirit of "Am I The Asshole" where people can post their own bans from lemmy or reddit or whatever and get some feedback from others whether the ban was justified or not.
Sometimes one just wants to be able to challenge the arguments some mod made and this could be the place for that.
Posting Guidelines
All posts should follow this basic structure:
- Which mods/admins were being Power Tripping Bastards?
- What sanction did they impose (e.g. community ban, instance ban, removed comment)?
- Provide a screenshot of the relevant modlog entry (don’t de-obfuscate mod names).
- Provide a screenshot and explanation of the cause of the sanction (e.g. the post/comment that was removed, or got you banned).
- Explain why you think its unfair and how you would like the situation to be remedied.
Rules
- Post only about bans or other sanctions that you have received from a mod or admin.
- Don’t use private communications to prove your point. We can’t verify them and they can be faked easily.
- Don’t deobfuscate mod names from the modlog with admin powers.
- Don’t harass mods or brigade comms. Don’t word your posts in a way that would trigger such harassment and brigades.
- Do not downvote posts if you think they deserved it. Use the comment votes (see below) for that.
- You can post about power trippin’ in any social media, not just lemmy. Feel free to post about reddit or a forum etc.
- If you are the accused PTB, while you are welcome to respond, please do so within the relevant post.
Expect to receive feedback about your posts, they might even be negative.
Make sure you follow this instance's code of conduct. In other words we won't allow bellyaching about being sanctioned for hate speech or bigotry.
YPTB matrix channel: For real-time discussions about bastards or to appeal mod actions in YPTB itself.
Some acronyms you might see.
- PTB - Power-Tripping Bastard: The commenter agrees with you this was a PTB mod.
- YDI - You Deserved It: The commenter thinks you deserved that mod action.
- YDM new - You Deserved More: The commenter thinks you got off too lightly.
- BPR - Bait-Provoked Reaction: That mod probably overreacted in charged situation, or due to being baited.
- CLM - Clueless Mod: The mod probably just doesn't understand how their software works.

You're a 1 day old account Flat Earther going around arguing about 'globers'; 100% reeking of a troll account.
Yeah normally I defend accounts that are accused of trolling since they're usually just grumpy, neurodivergent, or hold unpopular opinions but given that I independently already had an interaction with this user on a completely separate topic that made me wonder if they're a troll, I'm going to say it might well be true in this case.
YDI. You are a troll.
I'm kinda surprised you found this community. I'd suspect that you have used Lemmy longer then the age of this account. And so I surmise that your understanding of some of the basic dynamics of culture that some instances uphold, is there.
the fact you can't respect something like pronouns is telling. calling it stupid neopronouns and complaining about being banned from 196, you probably deserve the ban... for trolling
YDM troll.
inb4 OP deletes this post too, after being called out
They banned me years ago for suggesting in a non-blahaj thread that the word "dude" is not a gendered term in most context.
Traditionally it hasn't been. It is getting there in some ways. In the Midwest in the late 80s an 90s people used dude like they were smurfs or something. But it was very regional, not at all universal.
Worked with a younger woman co worker from a female dominated household who used "girl" as most would use "man" in slang. I got a chuckle out of it the first time, and after that I always understood. But you gotta try and understand where others are coming from or how they might feel. So many such slang terms borrowing from heavily gendered words like dude or man can be very erasing and unwanted.
In the end, we don't have the right for others to not be offended. And if you didn't intend for others to be offended. The absolute worst way to show it is to say fuck you I'll do what I want.
Announcing that you intend to misgender people is a pretty good reason for us to ban you given the nature of our instance. Notice how at the end of your comment you make it clear you will call someone a "dude" whether they like to be called one or not.
Edit: Banned you from piefed as well so can't see your replies
It's always good to consider your audience, I guess is my take. So for instance, since my development team at work ia comprised of both men and women, I don't used the term "boyscout changes" and instead just "scout changes." But also, I'm not gonna nitpick and get lost in nuance. For instance, the exclamation of "DUDE!" has no gender connotations to me. And if it offends someone... get over it dude.
Notice how at the end you say people should simply get over you calling them a dude while calling them a dude again, specifically after they've expressed they would rather you didn't.
Edit: oh. you're a troll. well then
You know this platform has threaded comments, you could just add a comment, instead of 15 edits to repeatedly reshape your argument. And why are you banning me, yet coming back with baited breath to see if I've responded? How did you even get this job?

Always is the case with transphobes.
Notice I did not say that. I said that if someone finds an exclamation of the word offensive they should get over it, which I stand by. I did not say whether I would respect their wishes if they explicitly asked me to stop. You're just assuming I wouldn't.
EDIT: this is a hypothetical outrage, I demand to be hypothetically reinstated to piefed
