I see it as an aggressor nation keeping its weapons on-site to threaten the locals in the name of defending them. I want them gone.
It brings me great shame seeing UK airbases being used to load US bombs into US bombers to drop on brown people that have never hurt me.

The US makes weapons, sell weapons, and controls the countries they sell those weapons to. Trump doesn't get any of that and broke the control that US had on everyone. He's the reason countries suddenly started getting worried that the US could turn off the planes they sold them whenever they wanted. The US has bases in every country, and Trump is the reason people are suddenly getting worried about them.

This is not Trump thinking. This is done by career bureaucrats in the pentagon that are not political appointees.
They publish documents of US Defense policy every few years. Basically saying that China and Taiwan is the most important issue for US. Europe should spend the money to defend Europe so that US can focus on east Asia. The contents have gone largely unchanged for the last few administrations.
For whatever reason you want to give for Trumps actions are in line with what the documents say. Venezuela and Iran are minor players that support China. Europe is spending more on defense than ever before.
The difference with Trump vs Biden is Trump seems more likely to take risks by kidnapping Maduro, bombing Iran, pissing off Europe.
US policy was also to have witnesses to any meetings with Putin. And to not store classified documents in a bathroom at a hotel of ill repute.
Trump is not playing 5D chess to advance America's interests. He's shitting on the board while squalking. The only interest he has any mind to advance is his own. There is not an ounce of patriotism or duty in his body.

Trump clearly threatened not to come to aid of NATO countries that don't spend the agreed % of GDP. If he did not intend to come to aid of any NATO country he would leave the alliance.
If it isn't a 100% guaranteed non-negotiable that they WILL aid their global partners, that it might be conditional, means that it cannot be assumed to be there, and is no longer dependable. It'd just be an ally piling in at best, if we're lucky and the current goomba-in-chief is a friendly one.
