No please!!! Don't let anyone from my instance see this!

I don't want to go back to sturgeon posts popping up on feddit.org every day!

Edit: never mind, too many of the communities over there are in German for me to figure out the correct one to put it in.

Looks like a sturgeon, maybe? I'm no fishologist

[–] spicytuna62@lemmy.world 8 points 5 hours ago (3 children)

Could also be a ctardiologist. But I'm no expert at inserting T as the second letter of the titles of medical professionals.

More like a carpiologist, amirite?

It's best left to the fishisticians to figure out

That's not a real fish, it's a model/statue. There's a loop at the tail end, and there's no way it would be sticking straight up if it were real. It would be limp,

[–] porous_grey_matter@lemmy.ml 2 points 44 minutes ago

It would be limp

Ummm, it's frozen, duhh

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 1 points 40 minutes ago* (last edited 39 minutes ago)

Maybe it's frozen. It is Alaska. And the loop is just trash from the sea it got stuck on.

This is no lower 48 Roadkill Cafe, "you kill it, we grill it." This is a whole different set of cooking skills

Id be mad as hell too how tf does a fish hit a car is the fish jumping over a bridge????

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 12 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Salmon jump quite far, I can only imagine the king salmon can leap kilometers

[–] UnrepentantAlgebra@lemmy.world 3 points 4 hours ago

Some people think king salmon are a different species but really they were just crowned king of salmon because they can jump the farthest.

I think it's crazy how it got stuck onto the car

[–] FaygoRedPop@lemmy.world 5 points 4 hours ago

That fish is too stiff to have been recently alive.

Appears this may be a white sturgeon, which can grow to 20ft long, 1000 pounds. Apparently they can leap about 10 foot out of the water, so yeah I guess this smaller one must of busted a move (a people mover that is)
