I still find it hard to believe it could happen, and certainly dont want to be proven wrong. Probably helps that I wouldn’t be eligible.
So the average person is out of shape, overweight, and knows nothing about the military or how to use weapons. Army boot camp may be only 10 weeks, but you have a very unready population and war has gotten much more complicated than it used to be. I find it hard to believe even the war-mongering fools currently running the us, would get us into something big enough and long-running enough for a draft to make a worthwhile difference.
Look at Iran. They might have started a never-ending war, but the approach is to sit back and bomb it. That won’t lead to a draft
Stepping back a bit, what about Iraq? That’s a bigger question since I don’t think we have the readiness to do that again, and it did require a ton of people. But they never instituted a draft, and the buildup was far too quick for one to be useful. … although that was also an international presence and the current regime is making sure that will never happen again
Then we get to Putin. Look at everything he’s gone through to avoid a draft, despite getting his country bogged down starting an absolutely brutal war resulting in hundreds of thousands of Russians killed or maimed. We all make the agent krasnov jokes, but there’s far more in common from one tyrant to another than any of us like
German here, so provably not applicable as it was 17 years ago (jeez) and a climate when they were just getting rid of it (only to reintroduce it again this year)
I avoided “Wehrdienst” by rolling in hungover with sunglasses and a Hawaiian shirt, botching their written test and telling them how much I enjoy going to leftist demonstrations and how I can't wait to hold a weapon in my hand.
I think they don't enjoy the idea of arming and training leftists.
Not to break anyone's spirits but I find it funny many of you believe your age, sexual orientation, health issues, etc., will matter to people like this. If they want you they are going to try to send you.
I dont live in the US, but I had the same thoughts when Germany announced its plans on how to gather more meat for the military. Currently there are no crafts, but I for sure know my plan if its going to happen:
First of all, I Am trans and therefore dependant on medication (my HRT), ssecond is, that my whole body is basically fucked. I can not do a single pushup and will probably never in my life be able to do them again. As soon as I flex my left arm with just a little bit if resistance I can always feel something "snapping around" in my joint and that shit hurts quite bad if I continue to do exercises beside that. Next is, that I Am very tall and I already have back problems.
Finally, if my medical condition isnt enough, I will for sure appear to the draft stoned as hell. That motherfucker of a drug test is going to glow in the dark due to me making sure in prior, that AS many different drugs as possible will appear in it.
Edit: Ya all gave me great ideas, about telling them that I really like leftwing extremism.
Germany are fairly likely to fall lock step in with Israel for the war, the genocide experience will likely come in handy. Old and new methods, sharing tech, it will be a great relationship for the spineless.

Not of age, I got through the "draft period" during GWB. The US probably won't have a draft, mainly because we have a sizeable "volunteer" military.
However, if I was drafted, I would talk to my recruiter about how I've read books about fragging, and how all I can think about is how powerful that is, for one man with one weapon on the inside to destroy or disrupt the chain of command. Then do your best Private Pyle "Seven Six Two millimeter. Full Metal jacket!" imitation. The military doesn't care about sending untrained and unqualified conscripts into an active war, but I doubt they will take someone who seems to have uncontrollable fantasies about shooting their own officer.
Take an opiate before I go in and nod out in the line or seat or interview or whatever.
Also talk about how you've had to be on the opiates to come to terms with figuring out that you might be a different gender.
Boom. No war for you.

yeah thats not gonna fly. you're gon a have to prove a history of drug abuse and mental illness for that to disqualify you, and for being transgender to disqualify you you have to have already started medically transitioning
Same principle as the weed doctor. You just need a therapist willing to sign off on whatever you tell them. Quite honestly it's probably even easier than that, normal intake for drug abuse is a questionnaire about usage history.
So what all young men should be doing now is going to get drug abuse treatment just to get the intake paperwork done. Tell them you've been using since you were 13 and can't stop. Give them a phone number one digit off from yours if you don't want a phone call to remind you to come to treatment since you're just trying to establish a history.
Man if you go in there nodding out and drooling on the desk I feel like they're not giving you a gun and you couldn't go to basic training until you went through treatment you would tell them.
What's there to prove? You showed up high AF on opiates and are very clearly (in their eyes) a drug addict if you do that.
Geniuenly curious if you could just say "I am Muslim Alhamdulillah" and they refuse to draft you for this one.

They aren't going to have a draft, they will just destroy the economy so young people have no other option but to volunteer for the military if they want to eat/feed their families.
More like,print lots of money to give to defense companies and enrich themselves so they can gaslight the rest of us by claiming the numbers are good, the economy is great

In Denmark we just introduced the draft for women too. I'm not sure what my girls are going to choose when they get old enough. We do have to the option to deny it simply by claiming to be pacifist, so I'm not worried, just curious on what they'll choose.

Just say you have adhd or some other ailment and require a lot of meds. For most of you that’s probably true. Hell, my medication pile is bigger than my meals.

The second thing is rfk can get rid of whatever he wants but people are going to need that thing still. He can ban heart medicine but when a recruiter asks about your health you can still bring up your are supposed to be on medicine and you can’t function without it.
The heart condition excludes you regardless… or… moves you down the list and you have more time to play Minecraft before you have to go visit that cousin of yours.

I don't think Trump could end his presidency faster than by invoking a draft.
I think so too, however I've thought that about so many things that he ended up getting away with
