I tend to watch it more these days for video podcasting content and live sports, the platform is actually really good for live sports. WSL, J-League and Bundesliga and whilst they don't show The 6 Nations Rugby (yet!) You can view the Rugby Europe matches there too. Plus more Public Service Broadcasters in the UK are putting their content on the platform. My only worry is the oncoming Boomer onslaught to the platform so they can watch their shows lol
They need to pay Federal taxes at the full corporate rate with zero deductions. Americans deserve Public Healthcare, Google can afford to fun that. You're next Facebook.
I agree they should pay in full, but let's not pretend they wouldn't just use that money for more war or something else unhelpful
And I hate it these days. I really do.
I understand why the better creators make their videos the way they do. I understand why there are channels that just churn out hundreds of low effort vids every day. I get it. At the same time, even the things that are considered quality content in YouTube just don't appeal to me anymore.
People send me links and I can hardly be bothered to watch them, let alone browse for hours.
Oh well.
And I will continue blocking their ads.
Christ, they way they tell it, you'd think those like myself with adblockers were the death of the platofrm by forcing it into near insolvency.

To meet that consumer demand, streaming services now offer ads in some of their subscription plans thankfully!
They get me on mobile (forced ad views on their app), but not on desktop (Firefox/uBlock).
Why use an app and not the website?
I just assumed the app was better to navigate than the website while on mobile. Maybe I should give it a shot, or one of the other suggestions here.
I am on iOS, if I watch YouTube it is via the web interface and my adblockers stop pretty much everything.

If you're on android try the pipepipe app from the fdroid store. It blocks ads, has sonpsorblock built in and can play videos with the app closed.
Easiest way is use a VPN that says you're in Albania. I'd recommend Mullvad or proton as a second choice
Who is actually buying stuff from youtube ads? Idiots, that's who. An idiot and their cash are easily separated.
