Don't be too rough with each other! We're here to appreciate, and sometimes lightly rib, Tolkien's fantastic creation, and all of its derivative works. Arguments happen, but remember, in the words of Tolkien, that food and cheer and good song are what make a merrier world!

If I grab my sword and swish it about in public, people call the cops and scream "pervert" at me. π€·ββοΈ
This reminds me, I do own a sword (a really shitty one I got for free in some garage sale leftovers). I should swish it about.
Speaking of men and mental health.
Generally, menβs mental health improves through action, even if itβs physical activity. Things that are tangible and measurable.
IMO itβs also why western medicine sucks at menβs mental health, their solutions are usually finding ways to be okay with a bad situation
Every doctor and mental health professional will tell you that physical activity is good for your mental health. That's not the problem.
People get mad when they're told to exercise more. They want an easier solution. I get it, it's insulting to be depressed AF and get told "try going for a walk". Exercise isn't the end-all solution and won't magically make you happy, but as someone who struggles with my mental health, the weight of the world is much lighter when I'm regularly going to the gym. It's hard to get out of bed and go some days, but I just bargain with myself that if I go for just 30 minutes I can come back home and sleep and usually I end up staying for much longer.

IDK, my therapists always went on about how I should start picking up activities, I even got a recommendation for a specific form of activity-based therapy that was less about talking it out (don't remember the name). Issue is that I'm too sick to even reliably make it to therapy appointments.
It's a good point. I do usually hear "Exercise is really good!" which is true, but motivating someone to exercise is the real trick. So finding that special thing that will make someone want to move around a lot should be the focus.
For me, I have found a non-intuitive one: 3D printing. Lotta lifting and carrying as I get my workspace set up, rearranging stuff, etc.

And generally involve medicating you until you don't care anymore.
This is completely wrong.
Nothing make you feel like a man the way having a sword does. You don't need to use it, just having it is chill enough.
Despite smelling if kerosene fire twerking was fun when I was younger. Same energy?
fire twerking
... dare I ask?
Like fire twerling, but without hands.
Yup, very similar
