The level of sanitizing the media is doing to this story is disgusting.

Let's recap this "affair":

  • Her husband cheats on her with her best friend.
  • The rep hardcore sexually harasses her, did not stop after she complained and eventually gets her to shack up for an afternoon
  • Her husband finds out so he takes her phone, impersonates her to start a group text chat including the rep and all his wife's coworkers, and confronts the rep about fucking his wife
  • In response she is ostracized and bullied by her coworkers
  • She kills herself by setting herself on fire.

For his part, this piece of shit man used his position of power and his knowledge of her personal situation to get in her pants.

Hard to call it a lapse when your judgement is always wrong

[–] dizzle18@lemmy.zip 13 points 4 days ago (2 children)

See, for me a “lapse in judgement” is usually something like buying that giant block of cheese at Costco that I don’t really need. But that’s just me, I guess.

[–] determinist@kbin.earth 6 points 4 days ago (2 children)

Would the lapse be buying only one?

[–] dizzle18@lemmy.zip 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

You, internet stranger, inspire me. I will go buy more cheese now. Never mind that I live in Wisconsin and my fridge is already bursting at the seams with cheese. I’ll figure it out.

[–] determinist@kbin.earth 2 points 4 days ago

No pressure.

i just happen to love cheese also. It's a sad day of I have somehow failed to keep my cheese stocks at appropriate levels.

The next one would normally be overeat on cheese and pass out on the sofa.

How can you not need a giant block of cheese? You should buy 3

Republican?

Well, at least it was with an adult this time.

I'm honestly impressed they admitted they were wrong.

Tony Gonzalez murdered his aide and burned the body. Uvalde police immediately ruled it a suicide by self immolation.

Stop making a mountain of a mere lapse of judgement!

[–] Maeve@kbin.earth 7 points 4 days ago

The Texas Republican, who is married with six children, said the relationship with married staff member Regina Santos-Aviles, who died by suicide last year,

Really? If so, was it induced? 👀

“House ethics Commission” is an oxymoron while MAGA controls the House

If the facts aren't bad enough, what gets me is nobody in the GOP is asking How long should we lock up this fool?, but rather Should we still let him run in November?

That's the situation now. Even if he wasn't involved in murdering her (which remains to be seen), his actions resulted in her death.

No shame, no remorse, possibly not even losing his main gig.

Don't even get me started on how he's confirmed his God has "forgiven" him.
