I apologize for the format. But this was the most insane thing I've seen in a while. If there's a better way, let me know.

This page is filled with this stuff and they're all acting like this "nationalist" group giving the sieg heil are not racist. Hundreds of comments all defending this group.

worth keeping in mind that a massive chunk of facebook content and comments are AI generated and aim to make you upset so you interact more

I think it's much darker than that. They're looking to gain a critical mass where racism and right wing authoritarians gain so much momentum that they spread faster when making policy that is authoritarian. Facebook is still incredibly useful to shift public opinion. These groups target areas and act like a magnet slowly collecting people who agree. It might be 1 out of every 10,000 views but it builds slowly. I haven't been on Facebook in years. It has changed and I truly suggest people need to witness it for themselves. Turning a blind eye isn't the right stance anymore. I usually would never say this but Facebook needs to be dismantled.

If any MAGA Canadians would like to trade homes, I've got a three story house in rural PA.

[–] surewhynotlem@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Tell us the stories and maybe we'll trade.

[–] Rhynoplaz@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago

Oh no, I'm not falling for that again! No stories until I'm out of fascist America.

If I didn't know better (I do) I'd see that sign and wonder why they're painting them as white supremacists (I'd go look it up). So you've got idiots who probably aren't putting two and two together and disingenuous people saying "oh so if you're against pedos you're a white supremacist now? I guess that makes me a white supremacist because I hate pedos!". No, believing white people are better than people who are not white makes you a white supremacist. You can hold two beliefs at once. You can even lie about a second belief to get idiots on your side. If NAMBLA launched a "stealing is bad" campaign would you be out there saying "well if being against theft makes someone a pedo, line them little boys up!"?

And the headlines don't help. Surely there's a way in the headline to let people know this is a known hate group doing something for attention. Because, as we've seen, idiots will claim they're throwing their hearts out to the children who are victims or they were all waving at the camera for this picture or something stupid based on the headline and photo.

God dammit, my blood pressure is up and it ain't even noon.

The blurriness doesn't help, but take a closer look at those guys' arm position...

Oh I'm well aware. Just like I'm well aware what Musk did. But mother fuckers will try to lie about it or pass it off.

It has become much crazier on Facebook. What's funny is i swear it's bots but I can't prove it. Il see a comment just being absolutely toxic. I check out the profile and it's some sweet old grandma
