Every piece of land has been taken and retaken over and over. The only limit to our knowledge of such is how far back we have historical records of an area. Humans going back through all times and societies sucked ass.
It always makes me chuckle when people try to blame capitalism for it.

Ghosts can harm people, but they also see and can access all of time and all universes at any given moment. Dying is like losing your bookmark in a near-infinite book; it’s hard to get back to your place.
Paired with that, things we consider to be horrible atrocities of our time or past are blips compared to unfathomable things that have yet to come.
Ghosts do kill people all the time in other dimensions, and sometimes in ours, but it’s always ruled as something like a stroke or aneurism or whatever.
I don’t believe any of this but like to think of excuses as thought experiments and have been talking out of my ass.

I suppose the meme meant to say "US Whites" given how they used to treat others in the past, but the term "Caucasian" is weird given how most of you have your roots far more west than Azerbaijan or whatever.

That doesn't follow. "Harm" doesn't necessarily mean "kill", and even people who believe in that sort of thing don't claim that all or even most ghosts are malevolent.
People are actually meant to be functionally immortal, but ghosts always catch up to us and make us die within about a century at most.
